Sonic woke up the next day, and went to Shadows room to see if he was awake, he knocked on Shadows bedroom door but there was no answer, so he opened the door and seen he wasn't there, so he made his way downstairs and noticed a note.

"A note? I wonder who wrote this?" Sonic mumbled as he picked up the note. He read through it, and realized it was from Shadow.

Goodbye, I'm sorry for everything I've done, I regret everything I've done that I couldn't fix. I can't handle this pain anymore, it hurts, I can't keep hiding it. There's nothing more I can do, I can't keep running, I can't keep living, all I can do is end the pain in misery I've set myself and others through.

I'm sorry for those who attempted to help me, but it's too late, I'm stuck in this darkness of hell I'll never be able to escape. It's too late, the time you guys will get to read this, I'll be gone.

Dear Rouge, don't cry... I'm sorry for having to end things this way, just remember from how stubborn and stupid I was, I still cared dearly for you, and that's goes along for everyone I've known. I love you Rouge, not just as friend, but as family. You were the first one to show me kindness and compassion, I wish I could return everything you've done for me, I didn't deserve anything you've given me. Thank you, Rouge.

Dear Sonic, thank you for helping me, giving me a home, showing that you'd care. I'm sorry I didn't return your kindness, your compassion, the way you cared. The truth is, I was scared. I was scared to express feelings for you because... well because I liked you, a lot... like isn't even the right word, I loved you, I still do. I was scared you didn't love me back, I mean why would you? I'm not the type of person someone would love. I'm sorry for everything I've done to you, I didn't mean any of it. Thank you, Sonic.

This is my final goodbye, this is my ending, this is where I end. I loved you all, you were all family to me, the closest thing I've had to family. I'm sorry for those I've hurt, but this is my time, my fate. Goodbye, I'm sorry I couldn't do anything more, we will reunite someday hopefully.

Sonic read through the note, then dropped it, tearing up. "I need to find him." Sonic said as he ran for the phone to contact Rouge.

Sonic dialed her number on the phone and called her, praying that she'd be up at this time in the morning. Luckily she actually was, getting ready for the day.

Rouge seen her phone was ringing, she looked and seen Sonic was calling. She was wondering why he was, and quickly answered.

"Hello?" She spoke into the phone, making sure this was Sonic.

"Hey Rouge! I was just calling to see if you knew where Shadow was? Or if you seen him?" Sonic asked, as he shakily held the phone, trying to hide the worry in his voice of tone.

The white bat raised a brow. "No? I thought he was with you?" Rouge replied, as he was fixing her makeup with one hand, her other being on the phone.

Sonic started to panic. "He was, he then left me a note, not saying where he was going, or what he was doing, but I don't think it means anything good." Sonic said, as he looked back at the note on the floor, tearing up again.

"What do you mean not good?" Rouge asked, as she stopped putting on makeup, and was now more serious in tone.

"Rouge, he left a goodbye note, we need to find him!" Sonic yelled, now expressing his panicking in his tone.

"Okay, I'm coming." The white bat spoke before hanging up, and quickly getting ready, then she flew out the door, flying to Sonics.

Sonic paced around his house, having no patience. Finally he heard a knock at the door, he quickly opened the door and let the white bat in.

"Can I see the note?" Rouge asked.

Sonic nodded and handed her the note. She read through the note, and gasped. "Do you have any idea on where he could have went?" Rouge asked.

Sonic thought for a moment. "Maybe the forest?" Sonic said, as he looked at the white bat, wanting her opinion.

Rouge nodded. "Yeah, that a good idea, let's go." The white bat said, as they now existed the house, going to find Shadow.
