It's the next morning and the boys told us that they would be gone the whole day at school.
"We will just tell our parents we have AV club after school. That'll give us at least a few hours for operation Mirkwood."
"Do you seriously think that they would know where Noah is?"
"Just trust me ok." Cableb nods.
"Did you get the supplies?" Finn questions.
"Yeah. Binoculars... from 'Nam. Army knife... also from 'Nam, hammer, camouflage bandana.. and the wrist rocket."
"You're gonna take out the demogorgon with a slingshot?" Gaten asks with surprise.
"First of all, it's a wrist rocket. And second of all, the demogorgon is not real. It's made up but if there is something out there, I'm gonna shoot it in the eye... and blind it." Finn sighs.
"Gaten, what did you get?" Finn continues, Gaten slings his backpack off his shoulder and empties out a full bag of snacks onto the table.
"Well all righty, so we've got... Nutty bars, Bazooka, Pez, Smarties, Pringle's, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana and trail mix."
"Seriously?" Caleb says.
"We need energy for our travels, for stamina. And besides, why do we even need weapons anyway? We have them." Gaten looks at Millie and I.
"Millie closed one door!" Caleb argues.
"With her mind! Are you kidding me? That's insane."
"They even demonstrated to me, they my made a book fly into my hands!" Finn adds.
"Imagine all the other cool stuff they can do. Like... I bet, they can make this fly." Gaten says pulling out some spaceship model.
"Sure we can." Millie says.
"I'll do it." I say, sticking my hands out in front of me, I close my eyes, I feel the power and glow go through my veins and finally reach my eyes as I open them, raising my hands up I fly the ship around the room, past Caleb, Gaten and Finn until I finally place it back down on the tables.
"Boys! Time for school!" Finn's what I now assume mum yells. At once they all rush around packing their bags and racing out the door except for Finn.
"You guys just stay down here ok, don't make any noise and don't leave, you get hungry then eat Gaten's snacks, ok?"
"Finnlay!" Finn's mum calls again.
"Coming! You know those powerlines?"
"Powerlines?" Millie asks
"Yeah. The ones behind my house?"
"Yes." I day.
"Meet us there, after school."
"After school?" Millie questions.
"Yeah, 3:15." Finn says handing Millie his watch and running off. Millie and I talk for the whole day, about our freedom and what our lives used to be like before and and the joy that we hope to find in the near future.
