"Alexis? Alexis? Lexi, come on wake up." I feel someone shaking me awake. I open up my eyes and shoot straight up. Adjusting my eyes I see we are still in the classroom, but it's dark, empty and cold.

"Lexi! Thank goodness!" Millie says throwing her arms around me.

Wait Millie. I then realise I'm in the upside down and for some reason Millie is here with me. Then I recall all the memories of the recent events and hear the footsteps running up behind me.

"Why?" I whimper out. Pulling her head out from my neck Millie responds.

"I couldn't leave you, Buba. We said we would stick together so this is us sticking together."

"God dammit, look I'm happy I'm not alone but me doing that was so that you could have a better life."

"I'll have a better life as long as I'm with you." She says going back in for a hug.

"Love you bubs." Millie says making me giggle.

"Love you too Mills." We say holding each other for a few odd minutes.

"How long was I out? Because I feel like I just woke up from a one month sleep." I say sarcastically.

"It's because you have been." Millie says coldly.

"What?"

"I woke up a day after we got sent here, I've been living off some scraps and food waiting for you to wake up, I did that everyday, shaking you and shouting your name. And today was the day you woke up."

"Millie, why, how have you stayed alive in the upside down for this long? How have I?" I say starting to get worked up.

"Breathe, just breathe." Millie says shushing me. "Look, I know how to get out but I needed more power. So now that your awake, we can try."

"Um, ok."

Millie helps me stand up as all my muscles are stiff. I take a minute to have a good look at my surroundings. It's exactly like the classroom. But weird. I picture all of us huddled around Millie just before I had killed the demogorgon, scared to death, getting the chills I quickly walk out of the classroom with Millie by my side.

"Here." She says, standing at the wall where in the real world the demogorgon broke through, there was a little crack.

"We need to make that hole bigger, so we can step through it."

"Ok..." I say as we both close our eyes and together we almost rip the whole wall down. Opening my eyes a see what looks to be a red and slimy translucent wall, that has vines and grime covering it.

"We need to run through it."

Taking a few steps back Millie and I both leap into the air and jump through the red wall and are now back in the real world. My lungs get a shock as I breathe in some non intoxicated oxygen. Now on the ground I stand up and dust myself off, as does Millie.

"We are out! We are out!" She screams with joy as we hug each other again. I can't imagine what it was like to live in the upside down for a whole month. As we rush out of the school we see it's night time.

"Do you wanna see Finn?" I ask, knowing the answer would be a yes.

"Yeah."

We walk towards the direction of his house, only to see several police cars out the front. Going up to a window we both look inside and see Finn, staring at us. Then the police notice, people rushing outside, escaping, Millie and I run off into the woods.

🧸

Together we now walk off, into the snowy cold night we stumble across a small wooden box, filled with eggos. Desperately we take them out of the box and run towards our cave as it starts to get really cold, sitting down, we gather a few sticks and I light a fire for warmth, gobbling the eggos down.

"It's crazy!" Millie says Taking the last bite of her eggos.

"Who would leave their eggos lying around like that!" She exclaims giggling.

"I don't know, but at least we now get to eat them." I smirk finishing my eggo. I slowly lay my head down on Millie's shoulder, tired as my muscles are sore I drift off to sleep.

"Night Buba..."

a/n wow ok so that was act one finished. I must say act one is the smallest of them all, obviously my writing is terrible and gets more descriptive as I continue on. I know some of the timeline is messed up and there is a loophole with the part of the story line being that they were in the upside down for a month but just deal with it. trust me, the next act is so much better so please don't stop reading. thank you sm.
