Making our way back to Finn's we go inside his basement in a hopes for rest. We get inside and clean ourselves up as Millie was all dirty and had blood on her and I had blood on me too.
"All right. that's better." I overhear Finn say. Him and Millie were in the bathroom as me and Gaten and were outside chatting.
"It was really cool what you did for us back there."
"No problem." I say, giving Gaten a warm smile. Then the radio comes on, Gaten's walkie talkie. It's just crackling.
"Caleb?" Gaten picks up the walkie talkie and bursts through the bathroom door to Millie and Finn.
"Guys! It's Caleb, I think he's in trouble. Do you remember how he said he was looking for the gate?"
"Yeah?" Finn responds.
"What if he found it?" Then we start to hear Caleb crackle through the radio, and Finn grabs the walkie talkie.
"What's he saying?"
"I don't know, he's way out of range." Gaten assumes.
"Son of a bitch!" We manage to make out over the radio.
"Caleb if you can hear us, slow down. We can't understand you." Finn says.
"Yfgdes, I copshsy! Dsidio yoshdu? They know about Aleishcxishs and Mildhdulie! Get ouhdudt of theresydy, they knowdhud about Alesxcissch and Millidtdye! The mad hen are comingsgd! All of thdhdem! Do you hehsjdar me? The mad hen are comindgdug!"
"Mad hen. Does that mean anything to you?
Like a code name or something?" Gaten asks.
"The bad men are coming!" That sends a shiver down my spine making me almost freeze to death. They know we are here.
"Bad men! Stay here." Finn says to us and runs up the stairs with Gaten following closely behind.
They quickly run back downstairs and drag me and Millie out the door as we hop in their bikes. All of a sudden I look back to see Papa. Millie me and him all hold a gaze for a few seconds.
"Papa..."
"Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go , go!" With that Papa and his men run back to the vans as we race off on their bikes.
"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god."
"Gaten!" We hear Caleb day over the walkie talkie. Come to think of it, I wonder why they used walkie talkies instead of a phone. Maybe they thought it was fun or they weren't alowed phones and this was the next best thing they could have.
The walkie talkie goes off. "Gaten do you copy?"
"Yeah, Caleb, they're on us."
"Where are you?"
"Cornwallis."
"Meet me at Elm and Cherry!"
"Copy Elm and Cherry!"
"Ok!"
They respond as we are now racing towards that destination. However the vans are now hot on our tail.
