Chapter 5

*JACKS POV*

I walked into French as I did everyday. I noticed Amber talking to some girl. She looked up at me and blushed. I swear the whole world stopped. She was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I sat next to her.
"Hi I'm Jack" I said with a smile.
"Hi I'm Lauren" she said really shyly.

I looked at her before saying anything back to her. She looked broken. I could just tell. My sister looked like that everyday until she killed herself almost 5 years ago. She had a story and I wanted to hear it.

"Where are ya from?" I asked.
"Uhm New York" she said.
"What made you move here?" I asked curiously.
"I uhm I just" she said getting nervous.
Ms.Matthews began talking before I could say anything else.

She walked out of class and I followed her to her locker.
"Hey, if you ever need anything like anything I'm here okay?" I told her.
"Uh yeah cool thanks" she answered,
I really wanted to know her story. Everyone had one. Even I did. When I was 12 my older sister killed my mom then herself. Dad never really liked to talk about it, with me or my little sister Lina. He always just told me she was crazy and that's it. I missed my mom like hell but I stopped letting it bother me within the last year. I realized I wasn't really doing anything just being sad about it.

I walked over to Sammy and Johnson.
"Hey did you see the new girl, she's hot" Sammy said and I cringed.
"Yeah whatever, so do you guys have any plans for homecoming?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm going with Kristen and Sammy is going with Amber and you're going with yourself" Johnson said laughing

I hadn't had a serious girlfriend or even a date in years. Not because girls didn't like me, just because I never really found someone I truly liked.

*LAURENS POV*

A few periods passed and it was time for lunch. The period I was most dreading. High school is full of groups, making the decision of which I belonged to was the hard part. I walked towards Amber hoping she'd let me sit with her.

"Is this seat taken?" I asked.
"Oh hi Lauren, no that seats not taken sit down!" She said with a huge smile.
I sat and looked at the other girls at the table.
"Guys this is Lauren. Lauren this is Beth, Stephanie, Kristen and and Amanda" Amber said.
I smiled at them and they smiled back. They started talking and I just listened and ate my food not knowing what to say.
"Lauren ohmygod, homecoming is coming up, you have to go dress shopping with us!" Amber said.

Amber reminded me so much of Katie. The blond hair, the bright blue eyes and the even brighter personality.
"Uh yeah sure when?" I asked.
"Tomorrow? We'll go at 5 I'll pick you all up. Sound good?" Amber said.
I nodded and so did the other girls.

I looked up as 3 boys walked to our table and sat down. The one with the dark hair looked at me again.
"Lauren this is Jack, Jack and Sammy"
