Chapter 9

I started walking towards my spot.

It was the middle of winter at 1am but I didn't care. Last month id been looking around my neighborhood and came across a creek and an abandoned treehouse. It was basically destroyed but I still came to it everyday to write.

I've been keeping a journal for the past year and a half. I wrote everyday. The first part obviously wasn't the nicest thing to look at, but the middle of the journal was full of me and Jack. Each day was something new and different with him.

The next day I woke up to a tapping on my balcony door.
"What are you doing?" I said to Jack
"Get ready" he said jumping on my bed.
"For what" I said not wanting to go anywhere outside today.
"Just do it" he said with a smirk.

His smile always won me over, so I got dressed. I got ready in 10 minutes and once I was done Jack started leaving through my balcony.
"Wait I have to tell my parents" I said.
"No, don't wake them up lets just go" he said with that stupid smirk again.
I walked outside and walked down the stairs to the grass. We ran to his car and I blasted the heat up.
"Where are we going?" I said curiously.
"You'll see" he said as he started driving.

Jack intertwined his hand with mine as I looked over at him. He was perfect, and he was all mine.

We arrived at some forest in the middle of no where and got out. Jack pulled me through the trees until we got to this huge lake.
"My mom used to take me here all the time" he said handing me a pair of ice skates.
I put them on and started skating around like a pro. Jack was surprised at how well I was doing.
"Wow you're doing pretty good I thought you'd fall the second you got on the ice" he said laughing.
"Never doubt me Gilinsky" I said as I slipped and fell on my butt.
Jack burst out into tears as he skated towards me.
"Told you so" he said just inches away from my face.
I leaned in to kiss him and the moment was just magical.
"I don't want this to end" I said and I really didn't.
We skated around for the rest of the day until we had enough. We drove back to my house and I decided I wanted to show Jack my "secret spot". I took him outside and stared down the hill.
"Ok so. Forward down the hill, one left, walk past the first right and take a right on the second right. Then walk down between the trees, jump the creek and follow the trail." I said.
"Remember that, that's where I'll be if you ever need anything" I smiled and started walking.
I held his hand as we walked up the trail, mainly so I didn't slip on the ice.
He looked around and smiled.
"Place doesn't have a roof or good support, you're gonna fall out of this one day" he said.
"I could" I said laughing.
We walked back to my house and climbed into my bed and started watching movies.
"Lauren, I love you" he said as he kissed me.
"I love you too Jack"
