"Hey" Alex said. Dustin walked closer slowly. He put his finger in front of him and touched her forehead. Alex was confused. "It's you! Your alive! I'm not dreaming, right?" Dustin said. Alex shook her head. Dustin hugged her. "Oh thank god." Dustin said. Alex hugged him back. El and Jason just stood there watching in shock. Alex looked at them and smiled. El's eyes started getting watery. Dustin stopped hugging her. "Alex?" El asked. Alex's eyes started getting water and she smiled. El smiled and started to cry a little. Alex chuckled softly and hugged her. El hugged her back. El let go. Alex looked at Jason. "I um I would hug you right now but-" Jason started. Alex hugged him. He hugged back and tears left his face. The ground started shaking and they let go. "How long have you been alive? Why haven't you come to tell us? What about Mike?" Dustin asked. Alex looked down. "The night I died I woke up in Steve's car. Steve said that the lab was looking for me and that it would be safe for me and you guys if I stayed here. I want to see him but I can't." Alex said. "Why?" El asked. "Because it's what's best." Steve said. They turned around. "What happened? I told you no one can know your alive." Steve said. "I got attacked by the mind flayer and a demo dog. Dustin and El and Jason showed up in the middle of it." Alex said. "You three can't tell anyone. It's a secret that Alex is alive." Steve said. "No offense but Mike needs to know." Dustin said. "Yeah, you haven't seen him he's a mess." Jason said. Alex looked down and El hugged her. "I don't care for now until the lab is closed the only people who know are you three, my parents, and Hopper." Steve said. "Hopper knew about this!?" Jason and El asked. "No but he will he's going to help me close the lab. I hope." Steve said. "Fine." Dustin said. "We're going to the cabin now." El said. "What?" Steve asked. "The sooner you get Hopper on board the sooner Mike can see Alex." Jason said. Steve sighed then Alex, El, Dustin, Jason and him got in the car and drove to the cabin. Hopper was sitting on the couch. He saw Alex. "kid?" Hopper asked. Alex nodded. He hugged her. "I thought-" Hopper said. "So did we." Jason said. "Steve is hiding her." Dustin said. "What?" Hopper asked. "Look I need your help shutting down the lab that's looking for Alex so that she doesn't have to pretend to be dead." Steve said. "Mike knows she's alive, right?" Hopper asked. Alex, Dustin, El and Jason all shook their heads with a mad look on there face. The all looked at Steve. "I'll help but just to warn you last time I hid El he kept punching me in the gut." Hopper said. "So will you help?" Steve asked. Hopper nodded. *A week later* "Hey, we're going to you funeral now." Steve said. Alex nodded. Steve and his parents left. Alex made sure to lock her door. "Okay, he's gone." Alex said. All of a sudden Dart came out under her bed. Steve didn't really want Alex to keep Dart but Dustin let her have him to keep her company. Dart sat next to her. Alex took a deep breathe. "Okay Dart when I kill the mind flayer I don't want it to kill you so." Alex said. Alex cutted his face. "I'm going to bind you to me. Okay?" Alex said. Dart put his head on Alex's lap. Alex closed her eyes and put her hand on Dart. All of a sudden a light came from Dart and she took her hand off. "Okay now you only die if I die." Alex said. After a few minutes Alex was laying down in her head staring at the ceiling. "This sucks." Alex said. She looked at Dart and he turned his head to her. Alex smiled. All of a sudden Dart turned into a golden retriever puppy. Alex screamed and she fell of the bed. Alex popped her head out. "Did you just-" Alex started. Dart barked. "Holy shit." Alex said. Dart turned back into a demo dog. "Holy shit!" Alex said excited. Dart went to her. "Dart you can shapeshift." Alex said. Alex told Dart to change into different things for like an hour. "Um okay what about... a cat?" Alex asked. Dart turned into a cat. Alex laughed. "This is awesome." Alex said. Dart turned into a golden retriever puppy again. Steve walked in. "Alex, hide. I told Mike he could get something and- is that a dog?" Steve said. "It's Dart." Alex said. Dart turn back into a demo dog. "What the fu- nevermind tell me later hide." Steve said. Dart turned into the puppy and Alex and him hid under the bed. Alex turned invisible making Dart invisible too. Alex saw shoes walking into her room. Mike sat down on the bed and looked around. He had been crying. Mike saw something on her nightstand. He took it. He looked at it and started crying. Tears fell from Alex's eyes. "Your not gone. I know your not." Mike whispered. "Mike did you get something?" Steve asked. Mike nodded. "Yeah but um can I have a few minutes?" Mike asked. Steve nodded. Alex opened the window. "Mike? What are you doing here? Steve is gonna kill you." Alex said. "I know but Me and the others are going to watch a movie and I was wondering if you wanted to come." Mike said. Alex thought for a second. "Of course I want to go but Steve is going to kill me if he finds out and you too." Alex said. "Don't worry, come on the movie is only like two hours." Mike said. "You are so dead Wheeler." Alex said. Mike smiled and kissed her. "You coming?" Mike asked. Alex nodded. "Mike I'm serious." Alex said. "What?" Mike asked. "Steve is going to be back any minute now." Alex said. "Just a few more minutes." Mike begged. "No, he's going to be mad." Alex said. "Fine." Mike said. "Does that happen in real life?" Alex asked. "No it's special effects." Mike said. "I want the door open!" Steve said. "This is so confusing." Alex said. Mike was trying to teach her how to play D&D. "Don't worry you'll get it." Mike said. Alex was crying. Mike walked in. "Alex? What's wrong?" Mike asked. Alex reached for Mike and Mike hugged her. Alex wrapped her arms around his neck. "It's okay. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere." Mike said. Mike started to cry more. He got up and left. Alex stopped being invisible. She got out from under the bed and cried. Dart laid down next to her still being the puppy. The door closed meaning Mike had left. Steve went upstairs. "Hey." Steve said. Alex looked up at him. "Food's ready." Steve said. Alex nodded. *A year later* Mike walked in the middle of the forest to Alex's grave since they didn't want people asking who she was they buried her in the woods near El's and Hopper's cabin. He finally got to it. He kneeled down next to it. His eyes got watery every time he did this. "Hey." Mike said. "I'm back. Just like every other day. The others are being a bunch of assholes. They keep saying I should move on cuz it's been a year." Mike said. He chuckled a little. "I don't know if I can Alex. I know in my heart your not dead. Even if your body really is there I just, can't" Mike said starting to cry. "God Alex I really wish this was all a bad dream. I wish I could hear your voice again. See you. Fuck Alex why did you have to leave me. Why did you have to-" Mike couldn't finish he started sobbing. "It hurts Alex. I don't- I don't think I will ever smile again or be happy." Mike said. He took something out of his shirt. It was Alex's necklace that she always wore. "Steve um let me take it from your room the night we buried you. I don't know why I just remembered I have it. But I never took it off and I'll keep it safe until you come back" Mike said. "Because I know you will come back to me Alex Wise. and I won't ever give up on you." Mike said. More tears fell from his face. "I- I love you." Mike said. Alex took the blindfold off and she was crying. Dart looked at her worried and placed his head on he lap. *Mike* Mike was still sitting at her grave. He heard footsteps and turned around to see Alex's dad and Adrian. "Michael?" Bob asked. "Yeah?" Mike asked. "How have you been?" Bob asked. "Okay." Mike said. "You come here too?" Bob asked. Mike nodded. "Look Michael I'm sorry. If it wasn't for me she not be gone." Bob said. "Not gone, missing. It's not your fault, it's his." Mike said. He looked at Adrian. "Don't look at me." Adrian said. Mike rolled his eyes. "She had to. It was the only way." Adrian said. "Bullshit!" Mike yelled getting up and facing Adrian. "If you hadn't let her do it she would still be here! She didn't have to! I'm sick of hearing that! It wasn't the only way! There is never only one way!" Mike yelled. "Boys calm down." Bob said. Adrian looked at Mike. Mike shook his head and left.
