Weevil hunting. Dinner. Naked hide and seek (aka second desert). That was the normal routine for the couple of ianto jones and jack harkness. However today was different for ianto and the thing was, he didn't yet know it as they collapsed with giggles through the door of a restaurant after a successful weevil hunt. "Jack shhhh serious face now we're in publi-" ianto paused as he took in the restaurant around him  suddenly realising why jack had insisted they change before going to dinner. "Jack.... this place is so much fancier than normal" he half gasped half hissed at jack as the captain asked for a table for two. Jack took him by the hand as they were led to their table and pulled out Ianto's chair "it's our anniversary of our first date" jack explained as he sat down himself. The welshmans eyes widened as he put his hand over jacks "you remembered...." he breathed "I thought you'd forgotten I didn't want to remind you like I do every year because I didn't want you to be frustrated" he admitted. Jack turned his hand so he was holding iantos hand in his "ianto i could never be frustrated with you" he said solemnly as he looked into the welshmans eyes.

The dinner went as any normal dinner date would with laughter, food and drink. However as the evening progressed ianto noticed jack becoming anxious and fidgety. "You alright?" He asked the immortal as he leant over the table jack responded with no more than a nod as they both finished their desserts. Ianto seemed slightly confused as the waiters bought expensive champagne over to the table "what's this for?" He asked slight laughter in his voice as the waiters left. "Ianto...." jack said seriously as he stood up. "What is it... what's going on ....... jack?". Jack moved so that he was standing in front of ianto "ianto you're the one person in my life that makes waking up in the morning worth it. You fill my heart with so much love and joy and I know I may not say it often but I really do love you and well what I'm trying to say is" he paused "if you'll have me.........jones ianto, jones" he began as a call back to how ianto introduced himself when they first met as he lowered himself onto one knee and opened a small box which contained a beautiful silver band ring adorned with a small diamond set into the centre with tiny rubies covering the majority of the ring set in he same way "will you marry me?" Jack finished. Other diners in the restaurant turned to wait with baited breathes ianto stared his baby blue eyes filling with tears "I—— Wait!" He said as jacks face fell "are you sure". Jack looked at him quizzically "what do you mean am I sure ? I just asked you to marry me". Ianto flushed as he panicked slightly "I mean cause like I can be really annoying but if you're really really sure then YES a million times yes" jack grinned and pulled ianto into a passionate loving kiss as the restaurant erupted into applause. Jack slipped the ring onto Ianto's finger and on closer inspection ianto could see that the tiny rubies were tie shaped and the gap of silver was engraved with jack and Ianto's names intertwined. He stared into jacks eyes and he really knew that the night really couldn't get any better.

The ring is not a real ring I made up the design I like to think jack got it specially made. The reason the gems are set into the metal is so the ring has a flat band finish. I think that ianto would rather that than a massive diamond 😂
