"Boo!" Peter shouts right next to me, causing me to flinch and have goosebumps going all over my body.
"Damn it Peter!" I yell and nudge him in his shoulder. "You can't scare me like that!" I continue while he is smirking at me.
"But now I... have found you." He says victoriously and taps me on my shoulder. "And now if you could tell me the reason you're not in the camp?" He continues, now being more serious.
"Fine. I'm avoiding the Lost Boys." I simply tell him and look past him. "And that's because..?" Peter keeps questioning my sentences.
"Well you know... I'm the only Lost Girl here. And sometimes I just feel lonely. I have no one to talk to about "girly" stuff." I explain to him.
He stays quiet for a moment. He looks pensive. "So do you want another girl here?" He then asks. I think about the thought for a moment.
"I mean... I guess it could be fun." I answer, smiling a little bit.He looks at me like he's scanning my thoughts and then just nods. He flicks his wrist and disappears.
I mean, what bad could possibly happen?
I decide to make my way back to camp, being excited about a friend that could actually understand me.
It's now the evening. The Lost Boys are dancing around the fire, as usual. I still haven't seen Peter after our converstation before.
However, my thoughts are interrupted when the Lost Boys stop dancing and turn to look at something behind me. I turn around as well to see Peter with a beautiful girl next to him.
"Hello boys, this is Wendy. She's our newest member, a second Lost Girl. (Y/n) made a wish today that she wanted a friend — a friend that could understand her better than us boys do." Peter presents. All of the boys walk towards Wendy, ready to welcome her. I walk to her as well.
"Hi. My name is (Y/n)." I tell her and offer my hand. "Wendy." She says and shakes my hand while smiling shyly at the same time.
She seems nice.
(time skip)
It has been months. Wendy and I have been inseparable ever since we shook hands back then. But there's something in her. Something I can't explain. She used to be so kind and shy, but now she has become more rude and ambitious.
We are sitting in her tent, talking. "So what do you think of Peter?" She suddenly asks. She sounds weird.
I like him.
"I think... he's a good friend?" I tell her, not sure if it's wise to expose her my crush on him.
Wendy suddenly gasps. "I'm a master of reading people and you girl... you like him! But guess what; so do I. And if you're going to stand in my way, I'm going to destroy you." She tells me aggressively."Wait... what?" I ask confused.
What is wrong with her? Why is she like that?I cross my arms and look at her, not believing her attitude. "You know what, you are unbelievable. I have done nothing wrong, but all you are nowadays is rude and ambitious. I don't really understand you." I tell her avoiding her grin.
"I don't care what you think of me. As long as the boys trust me — and as long as Peter trusts me, I don't have to be kind towards you." She says and smiles at me maliciously.
I don't believe this.
I don't want to be in the same area with her anymore. I stand up and walk out of her tent. I feel so angry right now. I decide to walk into the woods.
