End of Chapter 9 -

"Where are we, Doctor? You said you were taking me home?" You ask, opening the doors of the TARDIS to see nothing but stars.

"I can't drop you home without showing you some of the wonders of the universe, now can I? You helped one of my best friends take down the Master, which I could not have done on my own. I know I was a complete idiot before, but I was just concerned about your safety. No one is ever safe with me. Never. But that never holds anyone back, not even myself. I let people join me, so I don't feel alone and do anything too rational. So, what do you say, Y/N? Come with me?" He asks, moving to hold your hands in his. He looks up at you with a small smile.

"Of course I'll join you! I'd love to!" You beam.

I wonder where this adventure will lead us.

I can't believe it! He asked me to travel with him! This is the best day of my life!

"So, what should we see first? You say the word and we'll go." The Doctor says. He ruffles his hair a little bit, and kicks the floor of the TARDIS while he waits for your response.

"I.. uhh... I don't know? Something awesome, I guess?" You shrug, turning back to the stars.

"Something awesome, here we come!" He runs over to the console and rushes around, flicking switches and pressing buttons with every step. "Close the doors and we're off!"

You close the doors and move over to the console. You grab hold and the Doctor pulls the final lever. However, the ride wasn't as smooth as you hoped it would be. You're sent flying backwards, the same as the Doctor. He crashes into the seat, whereas you are sent hurtling back into the railing. "Y/N! Are you alright?" The Doctor shouts from the seat.

"Yeah, hit my back but I'm fine!" You reply giggling.

"Phew." He finishes, wiping his forehead of invisible sweat, making you laugh even more. "We're here!"

You step out of the TARDIS, and immediately frown by the sight in front of you. A storage cabinet. "Doctor, they have storage spaces at home. Why is this one so different? Do the boxes float or something?"

"No, Y/N. Although, that would be rather weird. Not the weird I'm used to though. Welcome to the Titanic. Not your Titanic of course, a new one. Built on the planet Sto. It was, however, named after your Titanic. Just hope the same fate doesn't come out of this one." Boy, are you in for a surprise.

"Amazing! Thank you, Doctor!" You squeal, hugging him and laughing. He soon joins in, and returns the hug.

"No problem at all, Y/N. Go get changed, everyone here is in formal wear. You're in a tattered old t-shirt with a blood stain where you got stabbed. The TARDIS has a wardrobe, first left then second right. I'll get changed after you, can't stay in this stupid old blue suit."

You rush back into the TARDIS and take the directions the Doctor told you to. Wow, this wardrobe is brilliant! There are clothes stacked on shelving all the way up to the ceiling and dresses and suits hung on rails. A twisted staircase ran up the middle of the room, and the whole thing was lit up by several lights scattered across the brown walls; which matched the interior of the console room. You wander over to the first railing, running your hands over the dresses and suits which were hung up. One piece of clothing catches your eye, and you immediately run over in it's direction. You quickly throw on the dress/suit (based on whichever one you want to wear, I'm not going to pick for you) and run back out to where the Doctor stood, with his back against the TARDIS door. "Wow, Y/N. You look great! My turn!" With that, he dashes inside and appears seconds later wearing a black tuxedo with a black bow tie, and his beige converse. Smart casual, I like it. His hair is still messy, but you don't mind it because he still looks amazing.

"You ready to go explore?" The Doctor asks, extending his elbow out for you to wrap your arm through. You do so, and he leads you to the ballroom. You gasp at how normal everything looks. I thought it would look more... well... alien?

"Doctor, this place looks like we built it. Why is that? I thought it would be more alien with funky lighting and chrome everywhere." You ask, looking up at him.

"The people of Sto are very humane, I guess? They must have heard about the Titanic and how marvellous it was, and tried to fashion their own based on the description."

"It looks like it does in the film. You know the one with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet? 'Draw me like one of your french girls'?"

"I've seen it, Y/N. Didn't think much of it though, too predictable." He shrugs, and you act shocked but then start laughing. "Go explore, go on! I'll get us some drinks."

You nod and he disappears over to the bar. You're too busy looking around, that you don't notice someone coming your way. She bumps into you and drops everything she was carrying. "Oh my stars! Are you okay? I'm so sorry I bumped into you. I was just blown away by this ship. See, I've never been on anything like this before. Sure, I've thought of cruising, just not in space! Hasn't everyone thought of going on a cruise? I'm sorry, I'm rambling. Here, let me help you with that." You reach down and help her stand.

"Thank you...?"

"Oh, sorry! I'm Y/N. I came here with my friend, the Doctor. You are?"

"Astrid Peth. I work here as a waitress." She pushes her hand forward for you to shake, and you do. She smiles at you, which you return. "So, never been on a Max Capricorn cruiseliner? It's really impressive what he has created."

"Lovely to meet you, Astrid. Let me help you pick everything up. No, I've never been on a boat, let alone a space-boat." You chuckle. You pick up the last shard of glass and place it on the tray. "I'll catch you later, Astrid. Got to find the Doctor! See ya!" You wave and wander around looking for the Doctor as Astrid watches you, smiling.

This was going to be the start of a great friendship.
