End of Chapter 11 -

You've arrived back in London, just outside a posh-looking building, each wall lined with glass. You and the Doctor decide it's best if you both take different entrances into the building, so you go through the main entrance and the Doctor takes the back entrance. Just as you're about to enter the front door, you bump into a ginger-haired woman who is about 30 years old. "Oh sorry, excuse me." You say, slightly quietly and awkwardly.

"It's no problem, I should have been looking where I was going. Silly old me! I'm Donna, Donna Noble. I'm here on Health and Safety duties. You are?" She introduces herself, extending her hand for you to shake. She smiles at you, patiently awaiting an answer as you stare back at her. Where does her name sound familiar from?

"Sorry, did you say Donna Noble?" You ask, nervously laughing as you take her hand and shake. You glance around you to see if the Doctor was anywhere nearby, which he wasn't. "I'm Y/N. Where the hell did he go?"

"Where did who go, Y/N?" She replies.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you. See, I'm travelling with someone and he seems to have disappeared on me. Lesson learnt, never leave the Doctor alone. Right, better go find him! See you round, Donna!" You shout and wave, as you sprint off to find the Doctor.

"He's here!" Donna laughs, throwing both her hands in the air, earning many weird looks from the other Adipose Industries staff. Once your out of sight, she begins to follow you.

"Ah! Y/N! Where have you been? I've been looking all over for you." The Doctor rushes, before running over to you. "We have work to do, something's not right here. I can feel it. How are people losing weight so quickly? Why? Is it alien?"

"Slow down, Doctor! I can't understand you when you speak so fast." You laugh. "Oh, I ran into someone on the way in... said her name was Donna Noble. Ring any bells?"

"Donna?! You're sure she said Donna?"

"Positive, 100%." You say, "why?"

"We've got to find her! She can help us out!" He shouts.

"No need, Doctor. Appears I've found you instead." A voice from behind him calls out, and he spins round to face the voice. "Hello again, Doctor."

"Donna!" He excitedly shouts, before engulfing her in a bone-crushing hug. "It's so good to see you, fancy helping out like old times?" The Doctor asks, before nudging her side as you stand awkwardly in front of them.

"Why the hell not! That's why I started investigating here, to find you! Boy, did it work out like I planned! See, there was these things that looked like space-rhinos at St. Hope Hospital. I said to my granddad that you'll be in there sorting them out. Oh, and the giant replica of the Titanic flying over Earth, that was you again right? All that fuss about Harold Saxon too? Genius!" She rushes, getting more excited by the second. "I take it Y/N here is your new companion? She's a character, I tell you that now. Boy, you're smart Y/N, using a different entrance to the Doctor so you both don't get stopped by security. Inspired! I'm rambling, I'll shut up now." Donna laughs slightly, before pulling out a pendant that looks like a pill.

"What's that?" You ask.

"Courtesy of Adipose Industries, free with every order of Adipose Pills. They're why everyone in the UK is losing their fat. There have been CCTV videos of these little blob things everywhere, but they only come out at night? What is with that? Why only at night?" Donna continues to ramble.

"So, the capsule must be some sort of trigger element? Doctor?" You ask him.

"It could be, Y/N, or could just be a free gift. We don't know that yet. Donna, can I look at it?"

Donna hands him the pendant and turns to face you. "He's amazing, isn't he? Took me bloody ages to find him and here we are! I hope I can take up my offer now and travel with him. How brilliant would that be?"

You look down at the floor, suddenly feeling really insecure about yourself. Is the Doctor going to replace you now that he has Donna? You feel a tear slowly making it's way out of your eye and down your cheek, so you don't look up to face her. Instead, you turn away and head towards the exit of Adipose Industries. As soon as you turn the corner, you break down in tears and sprint away hoping no one will follow you. I don't want to go yet, I don't want to be replaced.

"Is she okay? I'm going to follow her and ask. Don't do anything stupid until I get back." Donna says, as the Doctor looks up and watches you leave with your head hung. She watches you turn a corner, and begins to follow you when she's sure you won't see her following you.

"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you!" He shouts as Donna turns the same corner you walked down. She pokes her head back round, and puts both of her middle fingers in the air at the Doctor, making him chuckle as he turns back to the pendant.

"Y/N! Where are you going? The Doctor needs you!" Donna shouts, whilst jogging to catch up with you. "God I'm out of shape."

You don't answer, instead you carry on towards the exit with your head hung low and tears still streaming down your face. Donna manages to catch up with you and places her hand on your shoulder, and you turn round. "Oh, Y/N. What's wrong?"

"I don't want to be replaced." You whisper, still looking at the floor.

"What? I didn't hear what you said, you mumbled. I might be old, so speak up a little bit?"

"I don't want to be replaced! There, happy? I saw how you and the Doctor were back there, as if I didn't matter. You were so absorbed in having him by your side again, and I get it, you guys were friends way before I came along. You can have him, I'll be fine." You rage at her without intention. Donna is a little bit taken-back, she didn't expect you to lash out at her like you just done. Instead of replying, she places her hand around your waist and gives you a quick side-hug, and you break down again. Donna moves to hug you properly, and you just stand there without returning it.

"Oh Y/N, I'm sure the Doctor won't replace you. I know I wouldn't! You're a smart, bright, funny person. The Doctor would go insane without you, I can feel it. Come on, let's go find him, yeah?" She says, letting go of you and smiling.

"Yeah, let's go." You sniffle, wiping your eyes of tears and putting on a small smile.

"Ah, Y/N! Are you okay? I was so worried when you ran off! Don't do it again! You could have put yourself in danger and I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you. I've lost too many people. I can't lose you too." The Doctor says, running up to you and engulfing you in a bone-crushing hug.

"I'm fine. Did you figure out what the pendant was?" You ask, slightly returning the hug.

"It's an activation unit. A trigger element, as you said before. I think it induces labour in all those people taking the capsules. You're brilliant, you know that? Couldn't have figured it out if it wasn't for you!"

As the Doctor releases you from the hug, a whirring begins in the cupboard behind you all. The Doctor whips round and opens it to see a grey machine. The machine was lined with green lights, and words in an alien language were ascending in the middle on a screen.

"Oh, that's not good. We need to find whoever is in charge right now." The Doctor says.

"What's happening?" You ask, scared.

"The machine's been shifted into labour mode, everyone's going to die!" He panics, reaching up to grab his hair and tug at it. "What do I do? I don't know how to turn it off!"
