End of Chapter 20 -

"Y/N... What a coincidence. I thought my children exterminated you on sight." Davros begins, clearly confused by your revival. "What is this? One of my children is helping you? Not for much longer. Dalek Ghac, you are relieved of duty. Your gun never was programmed to work. Dalek Caan warned me of your betrayal here." Davros picks up his gun and shoots Dalek Ghac in the eyestalk. His once green eye turns black, his blaster and suction cup falling.

"Ghac!" You cry out, reaching out and hugging the Dalek. "You killed one of your own!"

"I'd kill all of my children if they turned on me like Dalek Ghac did. Now, it's time to kill you properly this time, since my children are unable to do so." Davros states, before raising his gun again and pointing towards you.

"Shit!" You exclaim, moving your arms to shield your face and crouching to the floor.

"Don't hurt them! Take me instead!" The Doctor shouts. "Davros, please don't do this."

Davros glances over at the Doctor before returning his gaze towards you. He lowers his gun before turning back to the Doctor fully. "Okay. Release him." Davros orders. Dalek Supreme turns towards the button on his left and presses it, throwing the Doctor out of his holding cell. Three Daleks enter the Vault and surround the Doctor. "Oh Doctor, all it took was the attempted murder of your companion for you to yield. Why now? They've already died twice today, in the last two hours alone. You're weak. Kneel."

"I won't let you hurt them again. Not anymore. Take me." The Doctor surrenders. Davros turns back around to face the Doctor, his gun raised. "No more death today, no more."

"Oh Doctor, do you really think we won't use the reality bomb after all this preparation? Think again. Detonate the reality bomb in five minutes! Doctor, without you I'd have no purpose to keep creating the Daleks. I'm not going to kill you, you're my enemy. A villain without an enemy is nothing. Instead, I'm going to make you watch as the reality bomb wipes out everyone in this universe. Including, eventually, you." Davros cackles.

Whilst he is staring at the Doctor and explaining his plan, you take the opportunity to push Dalek Ghac over to the control desk and press a button. This button deactivates Jack's holding cell and he immediately runs over to you and envelopes you in a bone-crushing hug. Once he releases you, Jack pulls out a pistol and shoots the eyestalks of the three Daleks surrounding the Doctor.

"Jack, where were you hiding that pistol?"

"You don't want to know, Y/N, you really don't." Jack laughs, earning a laugh in return from you.

The Doctor stands from where he was, running over to you and Jack. "Oh, Y/N. You genius!" He pulls you into his chest and you wrap your arms around his torso, sighing in relief.

"Hate to break up the reunion, but we're still on the crucible with millions of Daleks and a very angry Davros." Jack states, pulling both you and the Doctor out of your trance and embrace.

"Right, yeah. Rose, Jackie, Mickey and Sarah Jane are down in a corridor by the holding area. Well, the last I saw of them they were, before I got murdered. I don't know about Martha though, I hope she's alright." You explain, rubbing the top of your arm and looking down at the floor.

"Martha's a tough girl, Y/N. You of all people should know that! You did spend a year with her." The Doctor reassures, "she'll be alright." He moves his arm to place his hand on top of yours, slowly moving your arm down to your side again. He laces his fingers with yours and slightly sways your hands back and forwards, smiling at you.

Dalek Supreme turns to Davros as you are having your reunion and planning your escape. Davros slowly moves up the ramp towards him and stops before the Dalek. "Davros, three Osterhagen stations on Earth have been entered. Martha Jones activated one of them, in Germany. The other two are in Liberia and China. They are yet to use the keys, but they plan to. Shall I transport Martha Jones?" Dalek Supreme enquires.

"Do it." Davros demands. "We must make the Doctor pay."

Osterhagen Station One

Martha sits before a screen, tapping away at the keyboard in front of her. "This is Osterhagen Station One, my name is Martha Jones. Is there anyone there? Over."

"This is Osterhagen Station Five. Are you receiving, Station One?"

"I've got you. That makes three of us, and three is all we need." Martha states.

"My name is Anna Zhou, what's yours?" The woman in Station Five asks.

"Martha Jones."

"What about you, Station Four? You never said." Martha asks.

"I don't want my name on this, given what we're about to do." The man at Station Four replies sternly. He knows that his name will be repeated all across the universe if they continue with the plan.

"So what happens now? Do we do it?" Anna enquires.

"No, not yet."

"UNIT instructions say, once three Osterhagen Stations are online-"

"Yeah, but I've got a higher authority, way above UNIT, and there's one more thing the Doctor would do." Martha replies, holding the key in her hand and staring at it.

The Vault

"Incoming transmission. Origin: Planet Earth." Dalek Supreme states. "Display!"

"This is Martha Jones, representing the Unified Intelligence Taskforce, on behalf of the human race." Martha begins.

"Martha?" You ask, excitement building because she's still alive.

"This is a message for the Dalek Crucible. Repeat, can you hear me?"

"Put me through!" The Doctor exclaims, running towards Davros and Dalek Supreme with you and Jack in tow.

"Doctor! I'm sorry, I had to. Y/N! Jack!" Martha explains. "I've got the Osterhagen Key, leave this planet and its people alone or I'll use it."

"Osterhagen what? What's an Osterhagen Key?" The Doctor asks, slightly panicking.

"There's a chain of twenty-five nuclear warheads placed in strategic points beneath the Earth's crust. If I use it, they'll detonate and the Earth gets ripped apart. The Osterhagen Key is to be used if the suffering of the human race is so great, so without hope, that this becomes the final option." Martha finishes.

You look up at the Doctor, who has an unidentifiable look upon his face. He looks betrayed and puzzled, but also angry and scared. "Martha, that's never an option." You state softly, looking to the screen the message is being sent to.

"Y/N, don't make me regret this. It's more than that, now I reckon the Daleks need these twenty seven planets for something. But, what if it becomes twenty six? What happens then, Daleks? Would you risk it? It's the Crucible or the Earth."

"Transmat engaged." Dalek Supreme states.

"No!" Martha screams out before being teleported to an unknown location. Where have they sent her? What do they want with her? The key drops as she is teleported, the other two Osterhagen Stations stare in disbelief as she disappears.
