Cora's POV
After I had hung up the phone with Jace, I called the only one I knew who would be able to help with my my hospital bag. Rose. So I called rose and she answered. "Hey sweet heart how can I help?" She asked. "Hi rose. I need to pack a hospital bag but I have no clue on how to do it. Can you tell me what I need?" I replied. "Of course. Are you using formula for the baby's or breastfeeding?" She questioned me. "Formula," I told her. "Ok, in the bag your using for the twins, pack a pot of formula and bottles," rose said. I grabbed the bag and put the things in. "Done," I sighed. "Alright, now you need clothes, hats, mittens and blankets," rose told me. "How many clothes?" I asked. "With all of mine I used usual white baby grows. Don't forget to put in vests as well," she explained. "Ok. I have two white vests and a blue and pink baby grows," I told her. "Perfect. Now you need a ton of wipes and nappies because it's not a cute sight when kids are first born," rose laughed. "Seriously. Maybe I should have you come here and be my birthing partner not my dad," I joked partly. "Do you not want jace there?" She asked. "Of course I do. I'm still a little fragile from what he said to me though," I told her, while folding up the clothes. "When you left he was so broke. I had never seen him like that. Before you came all I saw with Jace was a stone cold look and no emotion. All of a sudden he would smile and his eyes would light up every time you texted him. Then you moved in and he was like a little boy, smiling and laughing, joking around with the guys and girls. I understand what he said to you hurt but he wasn't wrong. If you stayed with him, both you and the twins would be targets because you are his weakness," Rose explained and sighed. "I miss so much. It's so hard to think about him. I want him again," I started crying. "Damn hormones," I laughed a little. "What names have you picked?" Rose asked. "Arorah hope and Kieran Jace Black," I replied. "They have Jace's last name," rose sighed like it was a good thing. "Yeah. I picked the names Jace chose as well," I smiled and put my hand on my big bump. "How big are you?" She questioned me. "Hang and I'll face time you," I told her. I hung up the phone and face timed Rose. "Let me see," rose had excitement in her eyes and a huge smile on her face. "Ok calm down," I giggled. I put my phone on a stand then backed away. I turned to the side and smiled. "Oh my god, your glowing babe," rose teared up. "Thanks. Don't cry rose, you'll make me cry," I told her. "Salvatore come look," Rose called out. "What?" I heard him. "Look at our little boys girl," rose smiled proudly. "Hey cora, wow, it's flown by," he chuckled. "I know. It's getting so close," I got my phone and kneeled down packing my bag. "I've finished the kids bag. What do I need for mine?" I asked. Rose told me all that I would need and I packed it. After I was done, we stayed on the phone for a while. "Have you seen jace today?" I looked down at my lap. "Yeah. He's been doing better but still misses you," rose told me. "That's good," I sighed. "Do you want to talk to him?" Rose smiled at me softly. "Uh, no. I'll call him tomorrow and see how he's doing. Thanks for everything rose," I told her. "No problem, bye hun," "bye," with that, I hung up. "Are you ready for dinner?" My dad brought me out of my thoughts. "Yeah, let's go," I stood up. I tried to walk but obviously with the huge watermelon on my front, I waddled. "What have we got?" I asked. "I went out and got McDonald's while you were talking to rose," my dad replied. "Ok," I said. After I ate, I went to my room and put the two bags near my bedroom door, so it was easier to grab them when my water broke. I changed into one of Jace's tops that I took and shorts then climbed into bed. I sighed to myself then let sleep take over.
Roses POV
After Cora hung up the phone, I looked at jace who was sat across from me. "It's ok rose, I'll talk to her tomorrow," he gave me a small smile. "Jace. What if her water breaks while you here?" I questioned him. "Then I'll ask Emilio to tell the police that I'll be going way over the speed limit to get there," Jace shrugged. "When it does happen, let me know, I want to be there as well," I nodded at him. "Ok," he sighed. "What's wrong hun?" I asked him. "I want her to come back. I regret saying anything to her at all," Jace told me. "You wanted to keep her safe, no one blames you for doing it," Salvatore joined in. "No I know. I hate that I can't hold her or tell her it'll be ok. Why am I such a fuck up?" Jace put his face in his hands. "Just give her time. Talk to her tomorrow and see where it goes," I said. "I'm tired, I'll see you tomorrow," with that, Jace stood up and left. "He'll be ok," Salvatore hugged me. "I know he will," I sighed. "All we can do is be there for him," he kissed the top of my head. "We will. He's a big part of our lives now," I looked up at him. "Emilio sees him as a son. He may not admit it but he does," Salvatore chuckled. "Come on, let's go to bed. It's late," I smiled. Salvatore and I went up to bed and layed down. All of a sudden, I heard a gun shot.
