I woke up to Lysandra hitting me with a pillow. "Wake up, sleeping beauty, it's your first day of classes!" She huffed.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm up." I slowly rose out of bed and checked the time. I have one hour until breakfast. I started by having a quick shower - a cold one to wake me up properly. God knows how I'm gonna do this everyday. I dried and brushed my hair out before pulling it into a tight braid down my back. I grudgingly pulled on my uniform: a green and silver blazer and tie, a white shirt, a grey skirt and knee length black socks and black shoes. It was very itchy and uncomfortable, how I survived wearing it I had no idea.
"Took your time," Lysandra said when I announced I was ready.
"Well you disturbed my beauty sleep. And it takes time to look this good."
"Whatever. I'm hungry. You coming?"
"Of course I'm coming. I never say no to food."

My first class of the day was English. Which neither Aedion, Elide nor Lysandra were in. That was just great. I walked in and looked around, seeing if anyone was familiar. Anyone at all.
"Hey, Aelin! Over here!" I turned my attention to the guy who had yelled at me. It was Dorian, the dude I met in the library yesterday. I made my way over to him, "you wanna sit with us?" He asked.
"Sure." I sat down next to him, and on the other side of him was a boy with brown eyes and brown hair.
"Aelin, this is Chaol. Chaol, this is Aelin, the girl I was telling you about."
"Nice to meet you." Chaol said, extending his hand out for a handshake.
"Likewise." I shook his hand over Dorian's lap.
"So Aelin. Where'd you transfer from?" Dorian asked.
"Oh, Rifthold High." The lie came out easily. Something I came up with to cover my tracks. I can't exactly go around telling everyone I'm a former assassin.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
What made you change schools, Aelin?" Chaol asked me.
"The circumstances I was in at Rifthold... weren't the best. So I decided to enrol here."
"What do you mean, weren't the best?" He pushed.
"Just some very sensitive stuff I'd rather not talk about. I moved here to get away from all that."
"Okay." He looked at me suspiciously, but backed off eventually. About halfway through the class, he started whispering to Dorian. I ignored i, but I couldn't help feeling that Chaol didn't quite believe me. I just had to hope that he did.
-
"Aelin, you can sit with Manon." The teacher of my second lesson said when I walked in. She pointed to a stunning girl with white blonde hair and golden eyes. She waved at me maliciously, and I got the feeling it was just to show off her very sharp matte grey nails.
"I'm Aelin Galathynius." I told her as I sat down.
"Oh, I know. I'm Manon. Manon Blackbeak. Elide wouldn't shut up about you yesterday. What's your deal with her, anyway?"
"Childhood friends." Was all I said. She looked at me sideways, but eventually turned her attention to the class.
"What's your deal with Elide?"
"She's my friend."
-
I was sat in my last class, bored out of my mind, when two guys came running in. They both had long hair, but whilst one was blonde, the other had black hair. They were both tall, much taller than Mr. Havilliard.
"Mr Moonbeam, Mr Salvaterre, you appear to be late. May I ask why?" Mr. Havilliard said. I hate him. I feel bad for Dorian having to have him as a Dad.
"Err... no you may not." The blonde one said. They started to walk towards their seats.
"Not so fast. You can both go and sit on either side of the new girl." I internally cringed. I sat here so that I wouldn't have to talk to anyone.. I guess that plan went bust.
"Alright, the new girl!" Fenrys whooped and started to walk over to me. The class laughed and I wanted to squirm in my seat. He dropped down into the chair next to me, holding his fist out for a fist bump. I looked at it, and then looked at him, who looked at his fist. I sighed and gave in, when the other guy sat in the seat on the other side of me.
"I'm Fenrys." The blonde one whispered.
"Aelin." I whispered back.
"That's Lorcan." So these two must be part of that cadre Lysandra told me about. That means Lorcan is the one dating Elide. I can have some fun with this, I grinned.
"Not much of a talker, is he?" I looked Lorcan up and down. He was sat with his arms crossed over his chest, pouting. It seemed he was very moody.
"Nope."
"I bet I can get him to talk to me."
"I'll tell you what," Fenrys said, "If you can get Lorcan to say one word to you, you and all of your friends can come to my party Friday night."
"Deal." I nodded. This class was boring anyways, why not bring a bit of fun into it?"
"Hey Lorcan..." I smiled at him, but I knew he had heard the entirety of mine and Fenrys' conversation, "So a little birdie told me, and by little birdie I mean Lysandra, that you are the boyfriend of my good friend Elide. So, what exactly are your intentions with her, hm?" No answer.
"I guess you just want to get in her pants then." His face reddened to the shade of a tomato, but he still didn't answer. I turned back to Fenrys, who was grinning like a madman.
"I didn't want to do this Lorcan, but you give me no choice." I poked his arm. Again. And again. And again and again and again. I repeatedly poke the same spot on his arm. He was getting redder by the poke, and it went on for just over a minute before I cracked him.
"Oh my God! Will you just fucking stop that already?" He yelled. I smirked at Fenrys.
"There you go. I believe that's..." I counted on my fingers, "nine more words than you wanted. I guess I'll be seeing you on Friday night."
"Wow. That is the first time someone's tried that. And we have done this a lot. I suppose we will be seeing eachother on Friday."
"With my friends. That was the deal." He sighed and shook his head at me, so I smiled ever so sweetly back.
"Fine. But dress teasingly, if you catch my drift."
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that." I winked at him.
-
"WHAT?! How the hell did you get invited to Fenrys Moonbeam's party?" Lysandra freaked out when I told her, like it was some massive deal.
"Oh, easily. All I had to do was annoy his friend."
"I don't think you realise how hard it is to get into one of his parties! And I hear they are always legendary."
"Well get out your dresses and heels because we are going on Friday night! With Elide and Aedion, of course."
"I'm surprised you managed to get them to come along. Elide always gets invited because of Lorcan, but she never goes. Ever. And Aedion? At a party? You are some miracle worker."
"Oh I know. I'm surprised it took you this long to figure it out."
