Snob was on her tippy toes, shoving her face up close to mine, glaring. My head was turned slightly to the right, avoiding her death glare, "What are you looking at?" I ask nervously.
Snob's place— Well, her aunt's place was located uphill in the upper town area, where big houses and only the rich could afford to live. When I say hill, I don't mean literal mountains, just the road that led up to her aunt's place had a slanted uphill road.
After taking a bus, I reached the snob's place before Jess and the others. They were all attending the summer class while I was too lazy to go today and decided to ditch it.
Especially not after what happened yesterday. My whole body was aching.
The house was quiet, it seemed like her parents were not around that much. They always seem to leave her out of most things.
"Where are your parents? Your aunt, Sofia? Your siblings?" I gave her an awkward smile.
"No," she said firmly, shaking her head, "You're not going to brush this off this time. You tell me what was that yesterday! You're in a gang?!"
I side eyed her, as if you let me brush things off. If I remember correctly I didn't get to brush it off and told her exactly what had happened that morning before arriving at her place. So what does she even mean by 'this time.' Ahhh, I miss my friends, with them at least they let me brush things off.
"Me? Pfft, no, no, not at all that was... You know, nothing. You know a regular thing to do sometimes?"
"Uh huh, regular thing to beat up guys and casually say," she imitated in a funny deep voice, "My territory."
"Hey! I don't sound like that."
Her eyes widened as if she made a discovery and she smacked her mouth close with her hand, "I'm sorry, am I being too nosy again?"
The way she's so straightforward made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe that's why I tell her things. To get it over with. So inconvenient... for my end.
"No! I mean uh, yes! Maybe? Okay for the record it's not a gang. I just have bad blood with him."
She raised an eyebrow.
"The territory thing is because," I let out an awkward smile.
"Continue."
"Well you see, it's because I live in this town so I kinda got pissed off and in the heat of the moment I said my territory."
"But I swear it looked like gang stuff though," she thought to herself, "Gang wannabes?" Her mumbled question was loud enough for me to hear it.
I'm sure she did that on purpose.
"Anyway, do you need gel packs?" She quickly asked right before I could address what she had just said.
"That's it? You're not going to ask me further?"
She shrugged in response.
I thought she would've at least asked me further because of her curious nature. But I guess I was wrong. She doesn't seem to have a curious nature.
Jess and the others came an hour later, they all seemed excited. Well Jess and Kyle did, Ethan and Colin walked inside the house with their usual expression.
"There's a party at Cindy's! Let's go!" Jess exclaimed in an excited manner while Kyle hyped her up.
"Will there be another drinking competition? At Joanne's, I was challenged by this other dude but we didn't get to do it," Ethan darted a glare at me, "Because 'someone' jumped into the pool while they were dead blackout drunk."
