Cecilia pov
Stuck in a closet after THE Alec, a local town badboy, who everyone seems to know, causes trouble, behaves in a carefree manner and attractive at that, opened up to me?
It was the most anxiety inducing, nerve wrecking closet moment. What was this situation called again? No, no, I should remember Julia calling it something, something about closets and heaven.
Every time, Alec's gaze was elsewhere, my gaze landed on his features. Occasionally, noticing his jawline and how it clenched from time to time, defining it even further. Alright! I admit again he is one good looking guy! How many times have I admitted by now?
Blake and Jess seem to be having a moment of their own but my mind drifted back to the close proximity. A need to get out of here settled in me. Need to get out of this proximity. Must get back to my space.
Thank goodness, we snuck out.
The next day, by dinner, I found myself zoning out at the table. Weirdly, Alec dropped me off yesterday. Dropped me off. Not even just a few blocks away. He walked all the way back to my aunt's front door.
Usually, he would go his own way. Giving a man of his own approach to his usual style. But dropping me off was out of character for him, unusual.
"Cecilia?" Mother's tone pierced the bubble I was in.
"Huh?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at her.
"Why aren't you eating?" She smiled briefly before glancing away.
Her smiles always seemed cold and empty towards me. But whenever I glanced at the smile she gave to Julia and Lucas, it radiated warmth. Whatever. My mind is preoccupied with something else right now.
Feeling stuffed, I decided to walk for a change over to Kyle's. His house was the hangout hub during the summer, since his parents aren't around. And from time to time, to act as a responsible guardian, his aunt forces him to have afternoon tea with her. Hopefully, I'll find the rest of the guys there.
The evening summer breeze blew by, giving relief to the summer heat. A dusty pink and purple colour filled the sky, slowly turning into an orange hue. Reaching downtown, loads of 2 story houses and some single houses came into view. This was the street Colin lives in and even further down the road should be Alec, Kyle and Jess's.
Just as I was walking towards the direction of Kyle's street, I spotted Colin. A smile crept up to my lips and I redirected my steps towards him. He was taking unpacked boxes from the back of a car to his house.
"Colin!" I call out, waving my arms in the air while walking towards him.
A girl with an elegant smile and dressing walked out the car that Colin was unpacking from. My steps halted midway upon seeing her in the driveway.
She had a beauty mark on her lip, it was placed just below onto her chin but not too far down. It added to her elegant persona she was giving. Her eyes looked soft yet seductive. A model was the first thought that ran across my mind. Her whole demeanour seemed mature. She planted a kiss on Colin's cheek.
A twitch ran over my eyebrow.
...Who?
A middle aged man with a slightly rounded beer belly, a physique that can be considered a dad bod walked out the house. He had a proud smile on display, "Colin's girlfriend! Your studies in Europe go well?" He laughed out loudly.
"Call her by her name," Colin's tone came out uninterested.
"Well! It's true that she's your girlfriend!" He let out a hearty laugh, "When are you guys planning to be engaged? You should look into it quickly." He was obnoxiously pestering on both of them.
