Cecilia pov
"Do you want black coffee or?" Colin asked.
I shook my head no. I generally didn't like coffee to be exact. Colin and I sat at the town cafe, waiting for Jess and Kyle. It was late in the afternoon around 5 or so.
Colin took out his phone and smirked, he regained his nonchalant look before looking back up at me, "Looks like they're going to hang out on their own today."
My eyes widened and heart spiked upon hearing him. Colin and I are the only ones going to hang out today?! I wanted to smack my own heart and tell it to get a hold of itself.
"You okay?" He asked.
I quickly nodded, "Yeah."
The waitress came over to our table and placed a chocolate cake in front of us. I don't remember ordering that.
"Sorry, I have a sweet tooth," he displayed a small smile.
"Are you guys a couple? You guys look great together," the waitress looked at us with hopeful cheer.
Colin's gaze toward me contorted into distressed. He looked back at the waitress coldly, "Mind your own business," came out in monotone.
The waitress felt awkward and left.
I smile at Colin, feeling slightly fuzzy at the teasing moment but in return he had a cold look, wiping my smile away in an instant. I didn't understand him.
The more I thought I did, the more he kept showing me new different things. A labyrinth of maze. When I think that I have just grasp an idea of him, I would have to turn back at the dead end and find another way.
With Alec it was easier to read him. His on and off type of caring at least felt genuine. But Colin's felt like he was holding himself back at times. A small chuckle escaped as I thought to myself. Where did you seriously disappear off to...?
"Hmm?" He hummed.
I widened my eyes and shook my head, "Nothing." How embarrassing... He caught me chuckling to myself.
We walked out of the cafe, feeling stuffed from the lunch.
"Do you want to go get ice-cream?" A friendly smile reappeared on his lips.
Shrugging, "Sure," I replied. He really has a sweet tooth. How can he think of ice-creams after having a bit of cake in the cafe.
And his expressions. How can they change from cold and distant to friendly in a matter of seconds. Someone... Tell me what's wrong with these boys! In this town!
Please.
A ringtone suddenly shifts our attention.
"Hello?" He picked up a call.
I really couldn't understand him at all. One minute, I feel like I do and another he's all shrouded with mystery.
Sighing and walking beside him on the outer side of the sidewalk, a car zoomed past us which Colin subconsciously put his hand on my shoulder and pulled me to the other side of him. Making him walk on the outer side.
A smile crooked on my lips and a twitch ran over my left eye. SEE?! I'm not going insane am I?
"Aria, it's okay, I'll be home soon," he adorably laughed.
Aria? My heart sank. I started feeling uncomfortable. Maybe he looked coldly at me when the waitress said that we looked like a couple because of Aria?
When he finally hung up, I was about to ask, "Who's Ari-" And a flashback ran across my mind, Colin telling the waitress to mind her own businesses, shutting up my mouth real quick.
