Satin always felt nice on my skin. I liked how the material felt, smooth and silky with a cooling touch. Red wine, that's the colour I chose to wear this fine evening. The city's roads were bustling with cars and ongoing traffic. Tall buildings and skyscrapers illuminated the busy streets.
The lower half of my red wine maxi dress flowed gently in the breeze. Every time I took a step with my right leg, it revealed my thigh through the slit of the dress.
"Ms.Williams," the driver smiled as he opened the car door for me to get in.
I smiled back, entering the car. The short hairstyle I had, grew long over the years. It was now long and wavy.
Being long distance felt horrible but Alec made it less heavy with his carefree outlook on life. Whenever I had heavy thoughts, he would come through, giving me a fresh breath of air. He had been my light. And together we stayed strong in this hurdle called long distance.
He says my straightforward and disciplined nature keeps him grounded but I say he's the one that has been my anchor. His carefree and upbeat character has given me life and he makes life seem more light-hearted. Now that I think about it, quite ironic to call him my anchor, with him being carefree and all.
The car stopped in front of a large building, where we had planned to meet. Exiting out the car, I was immediately greeted by doormen smiling and letting guests in. Another staff member stood by the elevator.
Upon reaching the highest floor the restaurant was on, I walked up to the receptionist.
She smiled. "Do you have a booking with us or are you just walking in?"
Before I could give her the name, a familiar figure walked up from behind the receptionist.
He flashed a smile that I could stare at for hours. "Ah, you're here. I was starting to get worried that you got lost or something and was about to just head down."
I smile back at him.
He turned his attention back to the reception lady. "Right, she's with me."
She smiled. "I'll take you two to your seats."
Alec quickly stopped her midstep. "It's alright. I remember where our tables are."
He quickly turned his gaze back to mine but for a second when they held their gaze, I could see that small flush slowly creeping up to her cheeks. Alright, that's enough interaction for the night between them. I never took myself as the jealous type but here I am, though my jealousy was quiet to his loud ones.
He offered me his arm. I gladly placed my arm on his and we started heading to our table. His cologne was intoxicatingly flattering my smelling senses as I got closer to him. We've always talked over text, face time and occasionally met up.
And I would say seeing him in person was the best. Meeting up every time gave me butterflies.
The suit he was wearing tonight was something I never expected to see Alec in. My head could only wrap around him wearing sweatpants and comfy attire. Yet this sight was not disappointing at all. I admit he was one hell of an attractive guy.
We were turning heads as we walked through the restaurant but my gaze only lingered on him and his gaze on mine too, occasionally only looking up to the front to lead us the way.
He opened the glass door to the outside area, the view from the top of the building honestly blew me away. Tall buildings and skyscrapers illuminated the night sky and the soft chatters of other guests really filled in the ambiance.
"This is our table." He smiled while pulling out a chair for me.
"Wow, how nice of you," I playfully teased him.
