BANG! BANG!

I jolted up hearing the loud banging on the door, "Shit–" I overslept.

That old man was outside my room, knocking down the door. I quickly got up from my bed and darted towards the window as I was about to leave through it. The door opened with a loud thud slamming against the wall.

"There you are," he laughed like a maniac.

My head turned at the sound, "Ha," a sarcastic and a mix of genuine bafflement single worded laugh escaped my gaped mouth. "The door literally came off."

He approached where I was standing and while my brain was still processing how the hinges of the door bursted, a sudden grab at my t-shirt collar snapped my focus back to him.

WoAH– He proceeded to drag me down the stairs. Making me lose my footing and haul against the stair board.

"That bastard at the bar couldn't even apologise to me. This is YOUR fault, you're a failure. How many jobs have you been fired from huh?!" A sudden WHACK! To my face later, it started throbbing. He huffed, gasping more air in and lunged his foot to my stomach, kicking me.

Ugh–

"GET A FUCKING JOB!" He yelled in my face.

Can he stop yelling at my face with his stinky ass breath?

"THEY KICKED ME OUT BECAUSE YOU CAN'T MAKE ENOUGH MONEY TO GIVE IT TO ME!"

The audacity this old man had was starting to piss me off. The punching and kicking? Whatever, I can tolerate that. But the nerve to blame me? ME? For not being able to provide for his indulgence. My eyes naturally shot a glare at him but he wasn't paying attention.

"Ahhhh..." He shook his head sighing, "This all went to shit when that bitch left."

A twitch ran over my eyebrow and my hand balled up into a fist. What's his problem? My eyes rolled at him before letting the pent up frustration go. Heh... Look at that pissed off face, I wonder what would happen if I rile him up more.

"She left because of you. So technically, you're at fault here," I shrugged, wearing a casual look.

His red glaring eyes met my unbothered, carefree look. Upon meeting my gaze, his eyebrows furrowed immediately. It pissed him off even more. Honestly, it was more entertaining to see him even more pissed than he already was.

Giving a few more punches and kicks to my body, he looked like a man-child throwing a tantrum. I swear once I'm legal, I'm moving out, whether it be in a shit apartment or in a basement of some rental. Pulling onto my collar again, he dragged me out the house.

A sigh escaped as I sat in front of my house on the pavement of the sidewalk with my head hung low, staring at the ground. Then a pair of white shoes came into view.

With half eyelids and a tight straight line across my lips, I slowly panned my gaze up to see who it was. Instantly, my eyes widened and a smile spread across my lips, "Snob!"

Her expression was painted slightly surprised and looked over at my house then back at me. "Your father?" She asked.

I nodded, still a smile plastered across my lips.

"Why are you here?" I ask, forming a smirk, "Missed me?"

She hesitated for a second before looking annoyed, "No."

My eyebrows lifted at her hesitation, seeing her look down a bit made me pause on my initial plan to pester her about it. "What happened?" I got up.

"Huh?" She looked sort of dazed like her mind was on something else and went back to looking dazed again, staring at the pavement awkwardly.
