Cecilia pov
Alec left in a hurry, which made me panic. It made me want to hurry up and catch up to him, but instead, I ended up falling down on my hands and knees.

The pain gushed over me, not only my feet were killing me. Now, my hands and knees were in pain, too. I wanted to cry, yet I didn't want to embarrass myself in public.

As if him being concerned about my feet being injured during the car drive wasn't enough. He had to help me get a book from behind me. AHH! That was the most cliché thing that could've ever happened.

I tried so hard to avoid it, I knew it would happen! So I stood on the chair putting in all the effort to avoid the cliché!! All for what?! For the cliché thing to happen anyway.

Despite the help, he did ignore me while we were walking in the hallway. He also did cut me off multiple times. That good looking son of a—

"You okay?" I heard Alec's voice from above.

With his help, I got up and my gaze landed on the diner. The sign above the diner read Hot&Dogs in bright red neon light, emitting a glow in the town that had almost gone dark. The sky was dusty pink and blue as the sunset with clouds scattered.

We both walked in Hot&Dogs in total silence. That was probably the most awkward walk of my entire life.

Colin grabbed a couple of supplies from the first aid kit box and started to patch me up, he caressed over my hands and gently cleaned my wounds with rubbing alcohol. Okay maybe 'caressed' isn't the best way to describe but he was helping me gently.

"Rubbing alcohol is actually not good. So when you get home clean your wounds under running water," he said in monotone.

I thanked him while smiling.

"Hey snob, what do you want to order?" Alec ruined the tender moment between Colin and I.

"I have never been here so I don't know what to get," I replied.

"Okay, the usual," he said and turned around.

Jess quickly punched his arm and then slapped the back of his head.

Alec frowned his face at Jess as he let out a, "Ow!" and spat out, "What?!"

She rolled her eyes at him, "Be nice!" and they both went over to the cashier.

Facing the front, Ethan was minding his own business on his phone while Colin was looking at me and I gave him an awkward smile. Is there something on my face...

"Cecilia was it? Why are you in town?" Colin asked.

That was unexpected. He doesn't seem like the type to be interested in strangers. So, that was surprising.

"I'm here on a summer vacation with my family," I answered.

"Do you feel okay? It doesn't hurt much now does it?" He asked yet another question.

I wanted to shed a tear of joy, what a kind soul and a fresh breath of air. Different from Alec's on and off type of caring. One minute he's so caring and another minute he turns into a cocky egotistic fool. Yet... he was living in my mind rent free.

I think I need help.

I happily answered, "Yeah! I'm okay, once again thank you."

"Scoot over snob," I heard Alec.

My happy moment with Colin was shortly cut off again. He started scooting next to me. My smile faded slightly, "I have a name and it's Cecilia."

He let out a cute chuckle, "That's what your brother said too, I guess he learned it from you..." He looked innocent and kinda... different from his usual cocky demeanour for a brief moment.
