A week and a half to go till Christmas . Slowly but surely both our families were coming into town . We were having a big Christmas this year . We'd be reveling the gender that day as well I'd thrown around so many ideas about a special way to do it . But I'd come up with something simple enough and I must say I thought it was a cute idea . It was a few days before everyone was coming into town and Sid was on the last game of a road trip they were playing the wild . During the second period Sid scored on a break away goal . As I jumped up to celebrate the goal I felt that sensation of the baby moving again . I gasped still not used to the felling a hand fluttering to stomach. How odd . This had to just be a pure coincidence no way no how the baby could understand its father had just scored . I settled back into the couch to watch the rest of the game . We ended up winning and 20 minutes promptly after the game my face-time rang . I answered it
" Hey baby.."
" Hey love."
" Nice goal . "
he smiled " Thank you ."
" Speaking of your goal .. The weirdest thing happened with the baby when you scored ."
" Oh?"
" Yeah , when you scored I jumped up to celebrate and the baby moved . "
" That's a bit odd. "
" Right it has to be because of my sudden movement .
" Or our little man could be celebrating with Daddy."
" Very funny Sid . It's nice of you to give our son credit . But I'm not so sure . "
" Why don't we just test the theory then eh ."
" And how are you going to do that?"
" Simple . Keep scoring . Then we will see if I'm right or not . "
" You are silly . "
" I know but you still love me ."
I smiled " yes I do love you . "
" Love you more . I'll be home before noon tomorrow . Then we can finish getting the house ready for everyone's arrival ."
" Okay I'll see you then I love you goodnight ."
The next day I left the house to go to the airport to meet Sid . I waited for the plane to show up checking my messages on my phone and other things . Soon the plan arrived . I stood from where I sat . As some of the guys got off the plane I greater them . Sid tended to be one of the last off the plane always . So I'd be here a bit. Flower tried to get me to so called hide from Sid but I really wasn't in the mood . Soon he came off the plane
" Sid . " I threw arms around him . " I'm so happy to see you . "
" I'm happy to see you to love. "
" Lets blow this Popsicle stand and go home shall we ."
" I can agree to that ."
Soon the day to pick up everyone at the airport came in order the for arrival it was my parents , Sids's parents , Taylor then Luke and Molly . We split the pickups since Sid had practice. It was the last pick up of the day and I'd taken it while Sid stayed back at the house with his parents and sister . The flight from Philly came in promptly at 3:00 and I waited for my brother and his family in baggage claim . I saw them coming down the escalator soon my little Paul had gotten big . I waved to them and approached the trio .
" Luke Molly it's so good to see you ."
" You too."
" Well would you like at my Claire bear . What they say about pregnancy glow is true ."
I blushed " Luke stop it not in public your embarrassing me ."
He chuckled and hugged me . We headed back to the car and then to house.
That night we had a big dinner and All the girls helped a life saver something I couldn't have done on my own.
Soon Christmas Eve rolled around and we had a large dinner and talked and laughed . Then it was into the living room mulled wine in hand for those who could drink and for me coca . It was time to open gifts . We all took turns and before we knew it there were only a few gifts left under the tree. Most of them would wait for Christmas morning . Except for one a special gift to our families . I couldn't help but smile to myself as Taylor read off the tag and realized it was for everyone from Sid and I .
" Go on open it everyone." Sid held me in his arms as we watched our parents open the big box . As soon the lid came off blue balloons floated out and up . It was my mother that pulled the the card from the inside and read .
" He or she what will it be . Look inside and and then you will see."
It was about at this time when Trina pulled the picture of the sonogram from the box . The sonogram with a blue frame . She clearly but two and two together and embraced me starting to cry .
" Blue ... Wait a second your having a boy ! " Molly nearly yelled
I just nodded already being swarmed with hugs .
The rest of the night went smoothly and it seemed everyone was happy we were having a little boy . Sid and I retired to bed around 10:30 . I got ready for bed while he freshed up in the bathroom . All done . I lay down in bed soon Sid came out of the bathroom in fairly unusual get up . I chuckled " Now what do we have here ." Sid was dressed in something I could only describe as a sexy Santa outfit .
" Ho ho ho merry Christmas "
I chuckled and kissed him . I guess I could go for a little role playing . " What did you bring me for Christmas Santa ."
" that depends have you been a good girl this year."
" It's debatable but I would say I haven't been naughty . " After a bit of time making out Sid pulled out a small box .
" For you my darling ."
I smiled softly . " Thank you love . " I opened the box it was a beautiful Pandora bracelet with his number a little penguin charm a little baby carriage for our soon to be son and wedding bells as well as a few other special charms that had special meaning . " Oh Sid you shouldn't have I love it . How much did it cost . "I kissed him softly
" It's Santa Sid .only like 1,200 . "
I chuckled softly " I see . I could repay the gift now but your parents are just down the hall. "
" True ... But they could be sleeping . "
" Why don't I give you an iou for this you can use it at anytime."
" I think I can agree to that . "
" Now where ever did you get that get up ."
" It's a secret . "
I just shock my head okay Santa Sid . Let's get to bed it's been a long day . "
With that we turned in .
A few days after Christmas our families left to return to Their homes. We still had half the day left and both of us were feeling lazy . " Why don't we just watch movies build a pillow fort and watch movies .
" You know that actually sounds like a great idea. You wanna pick some movies and I'll start the base. "
I nodded and went to pick some movies . I picked four in total . Going back to where the fort was I saw Sid was almost done . " Nice work . Love " I gave him a kiss " I got some movies here do we want any snacks . I could make popcorn .
