It was the end of January and the boys had some home games . A snow storm was blowing into the burgh I was curled up with coca and near the fire place it was already snowing and Sid was out getting food . Probably like the rest of town I had a feeling it was going to be a big one . Soon the door opened he was home . I got up to help him with the groceries. I kissed him " hey handsome I'll start putting theses away you got home just in time . It looks like the storm is picking up ." He shook the snow from his coat .
" yeah that's an understatement we weren't the only ones to think stocking up on food would be a good idea either ." I nodded and the bags into the kitchen to start unpacking .We unpacked the food and went and curled up on the couch . " a couple hours later it was still coming down in sheets .
" man I haven't seen snow like this since I was a kid ."
" or that storm in buffalo last year . I have a feeling we will be spending more the a couple days in the house . "
The next morning when we woke up it was snowing lightly there was so much snow . " wow...that's a lot of snow . How much do you think is out there ? "
" I have no idea but I should go dig us out . Or try to . I don't think it's gonna be very successful . "
" I'll go start breakfast . "
" 40 minutes later breakfast was finished and Sid came in covered from head to foot in snow ."any luck Sid ?"
" hardly any . " he settled down to eat .
" so your a no go for practice today then ."
" Yep , I wouldn't be surprised if it gets canceled . If half the guys are snowed in in . "
I nodded we spent the next couple hours watching TV until the power went out . Sid cursed .
" so much for that I better find the candles . "
After servel hours of the power being out not only were Sid and In servel layers cuddled up on the couch . We'd already done every non electronic activity I could think of . I groaned " I'm bored why won't the power come back on . "
He chuckled and kissed me . " why don't we go make a snow man . That should keep you entertained for a bit and if that Doesn't work I have a special game we can play . "
" okay I'll go out my snow stuff on and meet you outside ." He nodded I headed upstairs to throw on some warmer cloths .
After putting on snow pants gloves ,a hat and my coat and boots I waddled out to the backyard to meet Sid who was also in snow gear .
" Ahh You look like a real Canadian all bundled up .. "
" Ha, ha we both know most Canadians put on a winter jacket and go a people used to the cold . Now Lets start this snow man shall we."
We worked on the bottom together . He took the middle and I took the head. In no more then 30 minutes . We had all three necessary body parts for our snow man . We put them together . Now to add the finishing details . We found some nice smooth stones some how in all the snow to form the snow mans smile . Then I brought. A carrot for his nose . " what should we use for arms . " I asked
" I have just the thing in the garage I'll be right back." He went off into the garage and soon he came back .
" look what I have . " he held out a broken hockey stick . Which was broken right in two .
" that will work perfectly I'd ask why you kept the broken hockey stick but I don't want to know . " we put the arms in the snow man . " perfect now let's go inside for this game and hot cocoa. "
We went inside and stripped out of our winter gear and I put on the kettle .
" now what was this game of yours ?"
" just a strip game ."
" better not be strip poker you know I have no clue how to play that ."
" nope this is strip checkers ."
I laughed softly " okay I'm game I'm assuming when you jump the other persons checker they have to remove an item of clothing . What happens once your both naked ?"
" then you get to do something of your choice to the other or have them doing something to you of your choice . "
" game on this could get interesting . "
The game proceeded like any normal checkers game . Here and there . When I'd jump him he'd take off an item of clothing and vis-versa for him jumping me . Soon we were both left in one item of clothing and the game was only about halfway through . It was pretty even but he was slightly ahead. He just jumped one of my checkers and now I had to take off my underwear great ... This was going to lead to sexier things I could tell .
With in the next couple hours the power returned and within 2 days most of the streets were drivable on we had survived the storm .
About a week or so latter Sid was in New York for back to back games against the Islanders and rangers . I'd deiced to surprise him come into town . So I waited back in his hotel room . They game was just about over and we were winning . I knew as soon as the game was over he'd call me . He'd have quite the suprise but I had missed him . Besides I needed to see him as much as possible with the long road trip to Canada coming up . Right in cue 10 minutes after the game my phone rang and I answered it .
" hello ."
" hey baby it's me ."
" sid , how was the game babe . I only manged to catch bits and pieces . "
" it went well. I can't wait till I'm home with you though ."
" I know love , I miss you to . Little Colter misses you to Misses his Dad. When will you be home ?"
" by noon tomorrow. "
" I wish you were coming back tonight." I smiled to myself softly this was slightly fun .leading him on
He sighed and replied . "I know babe , but I'll be home in one more sleep . Try to get some rest ."
" I'll try I love you Sidney ."
" I love you more Claire ."
We bid goodnight and I quickly went into the bathroom to freshen up . I probably had about 45 minutes to get ready I showered and put on simple makeup . Then I put on Sids favorite set of underwear he loved these on me . Then I put on a simple black dress . And now we do our hair . Simple but it would do . I couldn't exactly hide from him so Id sit on the bed in the dark and wait .
Not more then 10 minutes after shutting off the lights I heard footsteps in the hall and talking . I could make out the voices of a couple of the guys and Sids voice . Soon I heard the lock begin to unlock this was it . The big surprise. I was momentarily blinded when the light turned on but I still caught Sids reaction . He dropped his bag and was honestly flabbergasted so I spoke first . " surprise handsome . " I didn't get to say anymore cause we locked lips . After awhile we pulled away .
" how ."
" That's my little secret love your son and I wanted to surprise you . In fact I have another surprise for you under this dress . If you strip me ." He gladly accepted the invite and stripped it from me .
" my very favorite pair of under things . You didn't have to ."
" But I did just for you . " I kissed him softly then speaking softly . " Let's go to bed babe ."
I always loved our reunions .
