It was the annual week long trip to Canada for the boys and I was sad Sid was going but a few days before the trip he surprised me . By telling me he'd pulled strings and I'd be able to come with them for their game against the leafs and Calgary . I was so excited I packed for the trip . I wasn't sure how he had done it but I was grateful I was 6 months pregnant and the closer and closer we got to the due date early in April the more nervous I was . I was so afraid that he would be gone when I went into to labor I had been having Minor nightmares of various situation in which he wasn't here . No matter how he tried to comfort me it still ate at the back of a my mind .
The morning of our flight we were up by nine and to the airport by 10:30 thankfully it was a private plane so light security I would have been pre -checked any way . I sat next to Geno since I knew Sid wouldn't break from his routine of sitting next to flower on the plane . We talked some .
" Hey Geno how are things with Larissa ?"
" Good , good much love much fun ."
I smiled softly " That's great Geno you two are good for each other ."
" How are you and baby ? "
" Colter and I are well trudging along with the pregnancy . "
" Sid mention me uncle Geno ?"
I chuckled " Yes Geno you in your own right will be the babies uncle . In fact I'm sure little Colter will look up to many of you on the team ."
The plane ride was short thankfully , of course it was cold getting off the plane Ah Canada . It was to the hotel and to spite me insisting I get my own room and leave Sid with the guys . That didn't exactly work out . It looked like I would be sharing a room with Sid and duper . This was so unorthodox I knew that deep down Mario would surely have Sid's skin for this one . I apologized to Duper at least 15 times letting him now that this was not okay by me . Sure he and the other guys where like family but this just went to far . After about my twelfth time telling him how sorry I was about this whole thing he said.
" Claire, seriously it's okay. You are pretty much family anyway ."
No matter how he tried to tell me it was okay I still couldn't shake the odd feeling. I didn't like this.
That night after dinner we started to settle in it was a game day tomorrow after all .And The guys needed there rest it was lights out before 10:30 . I was half asleep when I felt kisses ." Sid .. " I whispered softly not to waken Duper . " What do you think your doing ?" I asked as he continued to kiss me .
" Trying to make love to my beautiful perfect wife ." He proceeded to kiss my neck .
I moaned softly " Oh Sid as much as I'd love to, we aren't alone .And you need your sleep you have the game against the flames tomorrow . "
" So.. Duper sleeps like a rock and we can be quiet just a quickie is all. I need you baby ." his hands wandered down my body . I kept bringing them back up he was worse then a handsy teenager sometimes . This went on for about 15 minutes continually telling him no and keeping him from going anywhere . I wasn't having sex with Pascal in the same room no way nope . It was after this time I heard Duper's voice
" Sid she said no . Go the hell to sleep for God's sake .Or so help me I will make you sleep in the hall."
I didn't think he was joking around " Good night Sid ."
Another 5 minutes passed and I felt his hands wandering again .
"Sid No ."
" Baby please ..."
" No."
" But I thought you loved me ."
" Sidney Crosby don't be silly , of course I love you I'm having your baby aren't I . "
" Yes but we could seal that even more now ."
It was at this point I heard duper curse .
" Son of a bitch that is it . "
It was pretty dark in the room so I didn't really see what was going until I have half blinded by the side lamp being turned on . Still recovering from the brightness I barely saw what was happening . I did feel Sid being dragged out of bed .
" What did I say Sid . I don't have the patience tonight to deal with your shenanigans. So you are sleeping in the hall."
With that Sid was shown out of the door . And the light turned back out . There was knocking for a couple minutes . Then it stopped . I debated getting up and letting him back in but before I could I felt sleep pull at my brain .
Next thing I knew I woke and looked at the clock 8 on the dot . I yawned stretched and got out of bed . After using the restroom I dressed . I should go try to find Sid see were he ended up last night . I passed a couple guys in the hall and stopped Beau in the hall .
" Good morning sunshine you haven't seen Sid this morning have you ? "
" No I haven't you might want to check with Geno maybe he has ."
" Thanks sunshine." I headed down the hall to the Russians room . I knocked twice and waited soon the door opened
" Good morning Geno . Have you seen Sid this morning ? Duper sort of kicked him out of the room so I'm trying to figure out were he ended up . "
Geno nodded . " He here . Sleeping "
" Really ? Can I come in "
He nodded and stepped aside to let me in . I found two unmade messy beds no Sid there however I could hear his gentle snoring definitely in the room . I peaked around one of the beds and saw him curled up on the floor worth some pillows and a blanket I smiled . Out cold . I sunk up to him and kissed him softly " It's time to get up sleepy head .. " after a few more kisses his eyes fluttered open and he yawned .
" Hey baby . "
I smiled gently " Good morning. Let's get up and go get breakfast, plus you owe Duper an apology."
" Yeah I guess . I love you sorry about last night ."
" It's okay . We will just have a little fun later ." I winked
That night the boys won 4-1 Griess was in goal flower would play in two days time against the leafs .
It was a late night flight to Toronto and this time I got Sid and I a separate room so we could mess around if we so chose. Tomorrow practice was optional and Sid was taking me to the hockey hall of fame . I was super excited I had always wanted to go to the hockey hall of fame . Here was my chance .
At around 9:30 we got out of bed and got ready for the day we got something for breakfast and over breakfast I said
" so I'm expecting anyone visiting the hall of fame to want your autograph."
" probably ."
" Well you are Sidney Crosby its to be expected. "
After breakfast we headed over . I was amazed at about 80 percent of the exhibits there . I had to giggle at the animated version of Sid . " That's to funny for me . "
" Hey Future hall of farmers deserve to try going one on one with one of the best . "
" Not one of the best the best . " I kissed him softly of course there were a bunch of hockey fans that recognized Sid and had to get an autograph . I loved seeing him interact with the young fans . It warmed my heart . Unlike most folks we spent a good 4 hours in the hall of fame. As we were leaving I said " That was super great . Thank you for taking me Sid . "
" Of course love . One day I hope little Colter will be in that same building with the likes of Mario and Wayne Gretzky . "
" And you . I hope the same Sid I really do."
