The day finally came where it was our day with Lord Stanley. There would be a lot of publicity and public appearances but private time with the scared object as well . Both Sid and I had agreed that we needed family photos with the cup . So while I got the baby ready Sid was busy with an interview . I'd just finished getting myself and Colter ready when he got home.
" Babe I'm home . "
I walked down the stairs Colter in my arms to Find my husband standing at the bottom holding the cup . To be this close to the cup for me was a bit shocking I mean like any hockey fan I revered that inanimate object .
" We're all ready to go here. I see Lord Stanley is fairing well . " I gave him a kiss " What other public events do we have planned with the cup?"
" Just 2 more appearances , then we will have the cup to ourselves . Should be finished up around 3 . "
" Then dinner at your parents place at 6 right ?"
" Yep , and Taylor is bringing her boyfriend . "
" Taylor has a boyfriend? '
" yeah . Hadn't I mentioned it ."

We then set off to make our photo appointment
Once the cup was situated it was a little hassle getting the little one calm enough within the cup . But once settled it was absolutely adorable His little hand wrapped around the rim of the cup .
" Look he's a natural already . "
" Just wait till he learns to skate ."
After photos it was off to the local Rink where the cup was making a appearance for a pee-wee hockey league. Even small children knew the importance of the cup. Then it was off to town hall where there was another appearance. Even though it was your own personally day with the cup , there was a lot of pleasing the media and public .
When everything was said and done it was back home for some down time before dinner tonight. I put Colter down for a nap then went to find Sid I found him in the kitchen with the cup of course.
" Let me guess Ice cream in the cup time . "
" Yep . "
I shook my head and kissed him " I'm up for it ."
" Good cause I'm not eating it all myself , I have more plans for the cup later ."
" What do you mean ?"
" Oh you'll see. " I knew that look whatever it was it was going to be interesting .
After we had finished putting a decent amount of Ice cream in the cup I handed Sid a spoon. Before remarking " If you would have told me 5 yrs ago I'd be eating ice cream out of a cup with Sidney Crosby I probably would have laughed in your face. Sid chuckled ,after we were done we washed the cup up and went to get ready for dinner.
After all the usually preparations shower included I got dressed in a floral skirt and white shirt . I dressed the baby in one of his many penguins onesies and once Sid was ready we headed off to his parents house .
