About two weeks into my internship we had been given our main areas of work . I would be working with the Penguins and was super excited . After getting off work I went to the campus library I needed to get a few books for an upper division course. While I was there I ran into a girl that was in my upper division English class I think her name was Larisa . I approached her stack of books still in my arms .
" Hey Larisa! Working on the paper due next week I see ."
" Hey Claire, Yeah I'm trying to discuss what exactly the author meant by that passage on 120 . "
" Oh is that the one on adversity ."
" Yes , Then I have to study for my final anatomy class . "
" Whats your major again ?"
" Mediance , spelity in orthopedics . "
" Ah cool . " We chatted a bit more and she happened to mention her love of hockey and her family . As I'd thought by her name she was indeed Russian. I should invite her to a game . " Hey , are you doing anything Thursday night ?"
" Claire I'm flattered but I don't swing that way . And aren't you married ? "
I laughed " oh no , no i didn't mean it like that . And yes I'm married . I meant like maybe if you wanted to go to the pens game that night I have tickets . "
" Oh... " she laughed nervously " yeah I'd love to go to the pens game . "
" Cool meet at the Starbucks like 3 blocks from console at 5:20 ."
" sounds great , here let's exchange numbers ." We did that and split ways . That evening Sid commented
"You seem in a good mood what's up ? "
" Well I'm inviting a friend of mine to the game on Thursday . " I told him about her and my plan . " Shes a second generation Russian. I just think her and Geno would hit it off ."
"So your pretty much setting Geno up with this girl. "
" Yep "
He chuckled " you and your match making . "
" so you can get me those behind the bench tickets . "
" Yes . I can . "

Thursday came around . I went to meet with Larisa wearing my Crosby Jersey and jeans wouldn't she be surprised . She came in about 10 minutes after me I noticed she was wearing a Malkin jersey . This would be good . " Hey , Larisa . Nice jersey you like Malkin ? "
She nodded " he's my favorite player besides Crosby . "
"We all like Sid . Let's get a coffee and go to the arena ." After we got coffee we headed over to console . On the way over I texted Sid knowing he'd check his phone before warm ups. " hey babe , thanks for the seats hope you told Geno to stick around after the game since there is someone we want him to. Meet, and good news he's Her favorite player . Good luck tonight score me a goal ."
We waited in line like everyone else and got to our Seats . Before warm ups started she turned to me and asked . " So tell me about your husband . "
" Well , he's a sweetheart . A bit socially awkward at times but aren't we all . Caring, a hard worker . Handsome . I don't want to bore you . "
" No , it's quite alright . Thank you for inviting me to the game . How did you get such great seats?"
" let's just say I know some people . " warm ups started and Sid kept looking my direction . This is why I don't sit behind the bench ever day because I distract him. Larisa noticed that he kept looking my way and said
" don't look now but Crosby keeps looking your way ."
I chuckled indeed he does . The game started and soon second intermission came we were up 3-1 . I better take this chance and let her know who I'm married to so she doesn't freak . " so you know how I was telling you my husband travels a lot for his job. "
" yeah ."
" Well I'll tell you it's cause he plays professionally hockey . "
" so your telling me your married to an NHL player . Someone on the Penguins ?"
" yes . I'm.. Im married to ... I was interrupted by the boys coming back onto the ice . Before the 3rd started Sid banged on the glass next to were we where sitting and mouthed I love you ,then skating off . I shook my head that man .. " well if that wasn't perfectly obvious that was husband . "
" wait ! Your married to Sidney Crosby !?!"
" yes , you'll get to meet him after the game Geno to ."
" oh MY GOD!!!"
" shh .. Don't have a heart attack . " the rest of the period Larisa was practically jumping up and down in her seat we won 4-1 and after the game i took her to the elevator and down into the bowels of the stadium . Rob one of the security guys raised an eyebrow at me . "Its okay Rob shes with me . We went to the lounge to wait for Sid and as she was oohing and ahhing at things I chuckled we weren't the only ones in the lounge though . Vero waved at me and I walked over " Hey Vero , Whats up?"
" Not much , who's your friend ?"
" Oh that's Larisa between you and me I'm setting her up with Geno ."
" Oh well that should be interesting . Let me know how that goes . "
I nodded and rejoined Larisa . Soon Sid joined us and Larisa fan girled
" OH My God your Sidney Crosby !"
Both Sid and I laughed . I would never get over super fans reactions to meeting him .
" Yes I'm and you must be Larisa Claire has told me all about you."
" She has ?"
After a couple of minutes Sid Said
"So how about I give you a tour ."
" I'D LOVE One ! " I chuckled and followed the pair we made all the usually stops saving the locker room for last .
" And This is Narnia . Just kidding it the locker room Come on in ."
We steeped into the locker room and Larisa's jaw dropped. Ahh I remembered my first time in the locker room . There weren't to many of the guys still there . But I took the chance to visit with Borts while Larisa was still flabbergasted . I then turned to her . " Larisa I have someone I want you to meet ."
" Umm Okay .. "
I lead her down the stalls to Geno's as expected he was there " Hey , Geno. I wanted you to meet someone . Larisa This is Evengi , Geno Larisa . "
I walked to Sid's stall not far from Malkins . Give the 2 some privacy . I caught bits and pieces of thier conversation . At one point I noticed it switched from english to russian . Eventually Larisa approched were I stood and spoke
" Thanks for the invite tonight Claire . But I really should get going . See you in class "
I nodded my consent 1 week passed and word was Geno had taken Larisa out on a couple dates . Maybe I should get a job match making I thought .I really was good at this .
