As everyone knows Darry has always been overprotective of Pony, but when you started dating he became over protective of you. It started with him NEVER letting you walk alone. Which you were ok with because you loved the company. But then he started to get even more protective of you, and you were starting to get annoyed. You loved Darry will every once of your being, but you needed a little privacy. You knew that he just wanted to keep you safe. Honestly if he hadn't taken it to this extreme you would be flattered. It was time to talk to him.
You are currently sitting on the couch in the Curtis brother's home helping Ponyboy with his math homework. You are waiting for Darry to get home from work. A long while later he walks through the door with Soda. Soda grabs Pony by the elbow and half drags him to their room. It's late so Darry just mumbles a hello and walks off to his room. You walk off after him heading for his room, and knock on his door. "Come in" he says. And you walk in to see a shirtless Darry lying on the bed with his face in his pillow. You walk over and start to rub hisback the same way that Soda does hoping that he will fall asleep and you can just talk to him in the morning.
"Y/N come on if you keep that up I will fall asleep"
"You've had a long day just relax"
As you continue to rub his back he falls asleep. When you know that he is asleep you stop, climb under the covers and cuddle into him. He shifts and wraps his arm around your waist pulling you against him. Then you fall asleep too.

The next morning you wake up to Darry pressing kisses all over your face. "Darry stop it" you giggle. After a minute of silence you ask...
"Hey can I talk to you"
"Yeah sweetheart what about?"
"It's just that I have been feeling a little smothered lately. I get that you are trying to protect me but I would appreciate it if you just gave me a little more space."
"I am sorry. I wish you told me sooner I just want to keep you safe."
"I know but it's all just a little much"
"Ok I will, I just wish that you told me sooner."
Darry then kisses your forehead and heads for the kitchen. You decide to follow you to the next kitchen and get out four eggs and a pan. You turn on the burner and start to scramble the eggs. Little you know Darry is sneaking up behind you. He wraps his arms around your waist and kisses your neck. Then he starts to tickle you. "Stop it" you yell. And to your disbelief he does. You then spot Pony and Soda standing at the doorway staring at the two of you. After you make eye contact for a minute all of you start laughing.
