Like he said, see me at Mines View, hindi ko naman inaakalang doon talaga kami mag kikita at hindi manlang ako sinundo. What's more annoying is, it's fucking 6 AM.
If he was somebody else I would curse him to death for ruining my sleep. But he's Eliezer, and this is a once in a lifetime event. I was in the taxi when he called.
"Sa'n ka?"
"Fuck you! Ba't ang aga?" napatingin sa akin ang driver sa rear mirror dahil napalakas ang boses ko. Tumikhim ako at tumingin sa labas.
"Jeez, easy ka lang! You won't regret this, asan ka na ba?"
Sinuri ko ang lugar. Actually hindi ko talaga alam ang papunta doon. I just called a taxi and told the driver my destination. Ilang sandali pa ay nakita ko na ang wooden sign na nakalagay ay Mines View Park.
"Andito na,"
He told me to wait at the entrance kaya sinunod ko naman. I was standing there for solid five minutes at nakita ko siyang kumakaway na may dalang paper bag ng 7/11. Napansin ko rin ang DSLR cam na nakasabit sakaniya.
"Oh," abot niya sa'kin ng binili niyang packed sandwich sa 7/11. It was still warm, kaya siguro na-late. I wanted to get mad at him but I was hungry to do so. Inagaw ko 'yon sakaniya at pumasok sa park.
I guess we got here pretty early. Wala pang masyadong tao, tama nga siya at ganitong oras nga magandang mag libot dito.
"Finish up, we've got a little bit of walking to do."
A little bit? You call this a little bit?! This is literally walking up an endless staircase! But, weird. I can't seem to get mad. Tuwing naiinip na 'ko at malapit na siyang masigawan ay napapatigil ako dahil kitang kita ko kung paano siya natutuwa sa view. I stopped walking when the view completely overwhelmed me.
He was right, I don't regret it. I was just impatient, but once I saw the tall trees and the mountains slowly being covered by the fog, meeting the end of the horizon, it just calms your nerves.
"Ang ganda.." I said, still amazed by the view. Ramdam ko ang pag tabi niya sa'kin sa gilid ko.
"See? It's worth it." sabi niya at tumawa.
I want to take a picture of this. Pero pinili kong i-appreciate muna ang magandang view, ang malamig na hangin at ang sikat ng araw saglit. Good thing we're both wearing our long sleeve shirts.
Hindi ko nalang namalayan na nakatulala na pala ako at pinakikiramdaman nalang ang malamig na simoy ng hangin hanggang sa narinig ko ang shutter ng camera niya. I glared at him. Ipinakita niya naman sa'kin ang picture. It turned out good.
"Ako naman!" sabi niya at iniabot sa'kin ang camera. I sighed before talking it. Pumwesto siya at nag strike ng pose.
Sunod ay nag pa-picture ulit kami sa hindi namin kakilala. We both laughed when we realized we did a lot of picture taking with strangers here in Baguio.
"Akala ko ba ngayon kayo uuwi?" tanong ko matapos ang ilang minutong pag pi-picture naming dalawa. He's now taking pictures of the scenery when I asked him.
"Ngayon nga," maiksi niyang sagot habang nag fo-focus sa pag pi-picture.
"After this, I'll head back to Laguna." dagdag niya habang sinusuri ngayon ang mga picture na kinuha niya. Napatango ako at ibinalik sa view ang tingin.
Well, it's not like I can stop him from going home. Uuwi rin naman ako.
"Kain muna tayo bago bumalik,"
We decided to go to this restaurant near the park. Habang nag hihintay ng order namin ay kinuha ko ang phone ko at patagong pinicture-an si Eliezer na may kung anong kinakalikot sa camera niya. I immediately sent it to Win. Mabilis niya 'yong nakita at nag reply agad.

I smirked. Napansin 'yon ni Eliezer kaya pinigilan ko ang pag ngiti habang nag rereply sa message ni Win.

It was meant to be a tease for him. I'm not planning on confessing right now. The timing is shit. I was expecting a brutal answer from Win, but instead, I got,

I didn't knew what to respond. Hindi ko alam kung seryoso ba siya doon. Go for it? He must be fucking kidding me. Why would anyone motivate their rival like that? Tanga na ba siya? Parang gusto ko tuloy i-saksak sakaniya 'yung mga strawberries na binili ko kahapon.
Natapos na kaming kumain and Eliezer insisted on walking me to the hotel. Pumayag nalang ako. He must be wondering right now why I suddenly became quiet. Bwisit ka, Manalo. I don't know what you're thinking.
"What's up?" tanong niya.
"Wala, send me the pictures later, ha?" sagot ko. Tumango naman siya at natahimik ulit kaming dalawa.
We stopped walking when a taxi stopped before us. Tumingin ako sakaniya at mag papaalam na sana.
"May gusto ka pa bang puntahan? I can go home tomorrow morning—"
"Ha?! Wala! Uwi na sa Laguna! Sayang saya ka na dito, e!"
I pushed him off and I heard him chuckled. Rinig ko ang pag buntong hininga niya at humarap sa'kin.
"I'll— I mean, we'll wait for you," sabi niya. I smiled and nodded. Sumakay na ako. I mouthed the words 'ingat' as the taxi starts to go and he continued to disappear from my sight.
I decided to message Win again.
