It was the middle of the night when Wooyoung woke up howling in pain. There was an awful pain in his stomach and chest and panic set in immediately. He thrashed in place and curled in on himself.

Youngie! Wooyoung what's wrong? Yunho awoke with a start and started nuzzling his neck to try and calm him down. Hongjoong was there too. He placed a paw on Wooyoung's hip to just show a connection.

H-Hurts... Hurts Yunho. It h-hurts! He whimpered over and over. It was all he could manage to say.

The pain had been getting worse and worse as each day went on.

And along with the pain, Wooyoung always felt himself slipping away. He didn't know if it was his body's way of trying to block out the pain, or if it was something else.

All he did know... Was that he was terrified of what the pain meant for his pup.

The omega kept howling and thrashing, getting so violent that Yunho ended up getting on top of him and using his larger body to keep Wooyoung pressed against the ground. It managed to comfort the younger a little, especially when Hongjoong moved so he could lay down in front of him.

Wooyoung's vision started to turn black from the pain, but then something drew his attention and distracted him from his stomach.

The gates to the enclosure opened and Jin came running in holding a long gun. He was followed by a couple of security guards who held long polls with loops on the end of them. Hongjoong moved to stand in front them. He snarled, his hackles rising, and kept himself between his pack and the humans.

"Easy boy, we just want to help." Jin said. His voice was groggy and he looked a little disheveled, indicating he was not working the night shift. "You need to let me see him so I can figure out what's going on."

There's no way we can do that, Hongjoong. Yunho whimpered. If they start running tests, that could cause all sorts of problems for us.

I know. Hongjoong's ears fell back and he snapped as one of the men started to edge his way around the enclosure. The distraction worked though, because the other one was able to lung forward and loop his rope around Hongjoong's neck.

The beta yelped and tried to run at him, but the metal pole provided the perfect defense for him, keeping the wolf at a safe distance while also letting the man pull Hongjoong away from the others.

"Keep ahold of him, in fact," Jin sucked his bottom lip into his mouth for a moment. "Go ahead and just take him. We were planning on moving him tomorrow anyway. Let's let him cool off before introducing him to one of the females."

What?! Hongjoong yelped from a hard tug on the rope, but his eyes flashed blue for a moment and he tried to spin around to look at Jin.

Hongjoong stop! Don't lose control! Yunho whimpered and looked back and forth between Wooyoung and Hongjoong.

Everything was spiraling out of control...

In all the chaos, the other man was able to slip his loop around Yunho's neck and pull him away from Wooyoung. The omega whimpered and tried crawling after him. All the pain in his stomach was gone, making it easier for him to move.

Youngie no, it's fine. Yunho glanced at him and let the other zoo worker pull him away.

Wooyoung stood up and looked at him, but then Jin appeared in his line of vision. "Hey boy, it's okay. Are you feeling better now? I just wanted to make sure you're okay." His voice was slow and calm, something that eased Wooyoung's worry a little bit, but the growling Betas around him didn't help things, especially when the one man started dragging Hongjoong toward the gate.
