The next day, you plucked up the courage to find Tommy and return his coat. You devised a plan to leave it in his office, say thanks and get out but actually you really wanted to have a chance to talk to him. You didn't even have a chance to be his friend and already you felt like you were back to strangers. You decided to go in the morning, so if it goes to shits you can occupy your mind with something else. Your hair was freshly washed and curles formed as it dried, and a beautiful beige silky dress wrapped around your body. You felt confident and pretty, a part of you still wanting to seduce Thomas.

You walked over to the betting shop, taking a few deep breaths before entering with the coat in your hands. The men looked at you, but they were mostly focused on gambling away their money. The smoke in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Nevertheless, you made your way over to the door that had Thomas Shelby written on it and knocked on it three times.

„Come in." You could hear from the other side of the door. As you came in you could see Thomas facing the window. He turned around when he heard the door shut and said nothing but had a confused look on his face as to why you were there until he saw the coat in your hands.

„Hi Tommy. I just wanted to return it and say thank you." You said as you handed out the coat but wanted to say so much more, contemplating whether it was worth it or not.
„ Whiskey?" Tommy asked gesturing to a full glass of whiskey and bringing it to you. You took the glass with a little smile and just looked at it.
„ Look (Y/N)..." Tommy continued but couldn't find the words to say what he wanted so he just looked at you hoping you would continue.
„Tommy I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for crossing the line last night, we were both drunk and thankfully nothing happened. I was hoping to see more of you but as friends." It pained you to say those words but better Tommy as a friend than nothing at all. Tommy seemed impressed by your straightforwardness.
„Alright, I would like that too. Come to the Garrison later, your sister will be there as I heard from Arthur."
What Tommy said caught you by surprise, knowing your sister as she doesn't really go out with the same guy twice. You gave Tommy a big smile and said yes to the invitation, sipping on the whiskey he gave you even though it was pretty early in the morning. He admired the way your dress flowed on your body and sat down in his big leather chair.
„ So Tommy, how's it going with Grace? Do you need a little insight into a woman's brain?" you sat in the chair opposite him and gave a little playful wink to break the silence.
„What about Grace, (Y/N)?" Tommy said stunned at your question.
„Oh, I've seen the way you look at her, just thought I could help. And the way she looked at me yesterday I can safely say she feels the same way about you." You said cheerfully putting down the crystal glass on the hard wooden desk. Tommy just gave you a little smile and drank his whiskey, lit a cigarette and offered you one.
„Thank you. So I'm right? Actually no need to say anything. I know I'm right." You chuckled at yourself as did Tommy. You spent another few minutes in the company of Thomas.
„Okay, time for me to go and leave you to business." You said as you stood up, fixing your dress which made Tommy look at it once more. As you were leaving he took your hand but didn't say anything. Your face was showing confusion as you looked at your hand that Tommy grabbed by the wrist. You were waiting for him to say something but as you looked into his ocean eyes he let go of your hand and turned around again just saying a faint „see you". This man confused you in every way. Like that you left his office, eyes of Peaky men following your every move.

All afternoon you spent walking around town just to go to your sister's. You knocked on the door and at first it seemed no one was there but you could hear some rustling upstairs.
„Coming!" Sarah shouted.
„Yes you are!" you could hear a man's voice, whose sentence made you cringe.
Your sister opened the door after a few seconds and looked surprised to say the least.
„Hey (Y/N)! Not the best timing" she said though laughter, Arthur coming to the door with a towel around his hips.
„Who is interrupting?" Arthur shouted and after seeing you stopped surprised. „Uh... (Y/N)... Hello! I will leave you to it." Arthur said and laid a kiss on your sister's cheek as he went back upstairs.
You couldn't not laugh at this encounter and it was all the proof for the question you came to ask your sister.
„What? So? ... I like him a bit." Your sister said without you even asking anything. You just said you will be coming later to the Garrison and went home to get ready.

At home you drew yourself a bath, lit a cigarette and enjoyed music on your record player. You put on some darker makeup on your eyes which just accentuated them. You were ready to party! It was already 8 p.m. so you made your way to the Garrison where you first spotted your sister at the bar ordering a bottle. You hugged her and walked to the private table where once again sat Arthur, Tommy and John. This time you sat next to John who wasn't disappointed at all at your decision. Tommy looked a little confused but greeted you with a glass of whiskey.
„Glad you could come." Tommy said raising his glass of whiskey towards you.
„Glad I came, buddy." Your choice of words making Tommy roll his eyes.
You were being playful with John, making jokes and laughing all night, but you couldn't help but look at Tommy every once in a while to see if he was chuckling as well at your jokes. John had his arms around you and his hands touching your waist which just made you look at Tommy more often. You didn't want to make him jealous, you knew that couldn't make him jealous. Right? At one point John tried to kiss your neck which made Tommy get up quickly and slam his fists on the table a little too hard. Everyone looked at him surprised as all laughter stopped.
„Just wanted your attention to say.... Glad you all are here, and happy my brother found someone as georgeous as Sarah." Tommy said in the direction of Arthur to cover his angry outburst earlier. Everyone cheered and continued on but Tommy went out and that made you make your way out as well a few moments later.
„Are you okay?" you said to Tommy who was now smoking outside. Nothing but silence filled the air for a couple of seconds.
„Why do you care?" Tommy said with a defensive attitude which made you frown.
„Because I'm your friend?" you said very confused at his attitude. He said nothing, just looked at you for what seemed like forever.
„Yeah, friend." He said quietly and went back inside with you.

You spent the entire night getting closer to John yet couldn't help but think about his brother sitting across from you who watched your every move.
