part one - background

* 10 years ago *

Daniel's POV

There's a new girl moving in down the street, she has beautiful brown hair and looks about the same age as me. She has this mysterious vibe coming off of her, but I don't care she seems nice, I wonder if she wants to have a playdate?  (they're 7) "Daniel sweetie, do you wanna come with me to go welcome our new neighbors?"  I hear mommy scream from the kitchen.

Anai's POV

I hate this, I have no friends, my parents are fighting again, and I can't tell anyone my secret. I mean I know I'm only seven but I am seriously mature for my age, I've been exposed to so many things that the only time I feel like a true kid is when I'm surrounded by other kids.

I look over to my left to see a woman approaching me, with a boy with really bright blue eyes skipping his way towards me as well. " Hi sweetie" the woman said to me "I'm your new neighbor down the street, and I was hoping I could give you and your parents this house warming gift?" She said as she pointed to the muffin basket she was holding. "Okay sure! Follow me."

I led her up my driveway and into the house where my mom and dad were unpacking all of our belongings. "Mom! Dad! Look she brought muffins!" I screamed as I took the basket from the lady. "Hi" the lady said holding out her hand to greet my parents. "I'm Keri Seavey and over there is my son Daniel, he is the second youngest of my four children." "Hello Keri, I'm Amelia and this is my husband Alex." My mother said while taking her hand. The three of them talked for a while before they even noticed me and Daniel coloring in the corner while sharing a muffin.

"Wow" Daniel's mother gaped, "They're getting along really well." "That's awesome! At least I know Anai has a friend." My dad said as he grabbed his cup of coffee he was drinking while building IKEA bookshelves for our "library". "Yea" my mom said " I think they're gonna become the bestest of friends one day."

* Present *

*third person POV*

Anai and Daniel were on their way to their first day of Junior year, and she was kind of nervous.

Daniel - "hey what's up, you look worried"

Anai - "oh it's nothing really just kind of nervous"

Daniel - "oh okay"

Daniel really liked Anai and couldn't stand to see her look so worried. He loved her with all his heart, ever since the day they met. Anai never really felt anything till this year, she developed feelings over the summer during their trip to Cancun, and let me tell you she fell hard.

Hey guys!!! how was my first chapter? I think it could've gone a little better but hey I think it's a good start! I'll try to update as frequently as possible, but with school I think I'll mainly be updating on the weekends.
