OMG guys!!!! I hit 100 views, well a little over at the time I'm posting this, but thank you all so much. I hope y'all are enjoying the story so far, I'm pretty sure I'm getting better at writing, but I would really love some feedback! Also, yes I know my story is a little all over the place but it'll all come together shortly because what's creativity without a few risks?

*Daniel's POV*

I've basically been forgotten about while the girl's, I guess fangirl(?), over the fact that they are all mermaid's and have superpowers. So I finally decided to get Anai's attention. I walk up behind her and wrap my arms around her waist and place my head in the groove of her neck.

"I love you." I say smiling into her neck

"I love you more my little giraffe" She says giggling

Ah that laugh, that little giggle. It's enough to make any grown man's knees go weak. Then we all hear a ding. All of our phones go off.

"Guys," Adrianna says with fear lining her voice, "look at you phones. NOW." she says urgency slowly swallowing the fear that was once there

"Oh no." I hear Hope say, "Anai, we have a problem." Concern starts creeping up on all three of the girls expressions

I furrowed my eyebrows "What's going on?" I question

"Look" Anai says with a sob showing me her phone

*On Anai's phone*

Headline: L.A.'s very own mermaid?

A video was sent to us by a student who attends Titan Sage High School, yes, the school that just recently underwent a school shooting, that high school. The student has wished to stayed anonymous, but has given us the following statement:

"We were all locked in the lunchroom, the part of the lunchroom where the workers prepare the food. We all heard the man, a psychopath most likely, say he was gonna play hide and seek with us and try to find us. That's when he cocked his gun, my heart was racing as I was sitting right under a window the closest to any bullet strike it it got through the wall. Soon we heard a rummaging in the girls bathroom, like the pipes were about to burst. At the moment I was so confused, and I looked in front of me, and in the back we piercing blue eyes, as bright as day themselves, so being the present day teen I am, I got my phone out and started video taping the events that were happening. And then suddenly we heard him run away, then the same eyes looked behind her, and she began to draw water out of the sink above her and they came out in shapes. Building blocks, and layered on top of eachother like bricks, it was amazing. Then he came back, saying stuff about witches, fairies, and then he said it was the work of a mermaid. The glowing eyes persisted, and then the room got freezing cold, the water began crystallizing, and freezing over, right as it finished, I heard bullets being fired,and the ice cracking at every hit. Then the police showed up, and he ran away."

This student has also provided the video in which they took:

The identity of the person, or possible mermaid, has not been identified yet, but our tech crew is trying to clear out an image and light the picture up to figure out *dramatic pause* who our L.A. mermaid is.

*end of article/video/news report*

* Anai's POV *

This can't be happening. Nobody can know who I am. Then I felt someone shake me out of my thoughts.

"Baby, babe, princess?" I heard Dani say while shaking me, bringing me back into reality

"Huh?" I said my voice cracking mid word

"Anai, we need to train you now." Adrianna's voice was stern

"I'll handle the video and the press." I hear Hope say

"Daniel, you will help calm Anai if anything becomes to much for her, and you will help her seem as normal as everyone else." Adrianna says with stern in her voice

"Got it." Dani says with concern lacing his voice

"Training starts tomorrow, here, at Daniel's pool" Hope says, then she gets up off of Daniel's bed and continues speaking, "I'll get to work on the video and try to make it seem like nothing, maybe like a hoax, or something, but let me warn you, if anyone feels hatred towards this video, it will take over them, and another person will be after you." She finishes 

My mind is racing 100 miles per minute, I'm so screwed, if the darkness get's more people enveloped in it's dark magic, and turns them against me, who knows if I'll ever make it out alive, or worse who knows if my friends will even make it out alive. Daniel. What if I'm the reason he never makes it to 21. I felt a hand grab mine.

"Whatever happens, I'll be here for you Anai, I'm never going to leave you. You're not in this alone. This is OUR fight now." he says looking at me in my eyes

"Daniel, but what if you get hurt, what if you die." I cry, and start sobbing into his shoulder

"If I die, I'll die in peace knowing that I died protecting the one I love." He says kissing my forehead

"No, Dani I can't live without you, you will not fight my battle for me. God what did I do to deserve a person like you." I said mad at first but calming down because I realized that he just said he'd die for me.

He chuckles, and hugs me even tighter, I soon hear the door to his room close and realize Adrianna just left the room. Then my phone buzzed. I see a text.

Mom: Honey are you okay? Where are you?

Anai: Mom, I'm okay, I'm going to be staying at Daniel's for a while so he can help me with a project we have for STEM.

Anai: I already asked Mrs. Seavey and she said that was fine

Mom: Okay, I love you. Be careful please, your school has seem to be on the news a lot lately, oh and tell Daniel I said hi

Anai: Okay mom, I will, love you too. Tell dad I love him too.

Mom: I will

After I saw her last text I decided to turn off my phone and lay down on Daniel's bed.

"You okay baby?" Dani said getting in bed with me and wrapping his arms around my waist

"Perfect." I say turning around so I could lay my head on his chest

After a while we both fell asleep, hoping that nothing would be found over night.
