part twelve

*skip to school*

*Anai's POV*

We were walking down the hallways to lunch, and might I say I was starving. Me and Daniel were obviously holding hands and people were still whispering hurtful things while we were walking by. Something in me tried to come out.

"Dani." I chocked out, he looked down at me

"wha- oh okay, breathe, don't let her take control." he soothed

"Aww is the little slut having trouble breathing?" one girl walked past a snickered

That's when I lost it, I'm guessing that my inner siren had come out, because soon I was singing? I'm kind of lowkey confused, but whatever I was singing was doing something to that popular girl, I think her name was Lauren? I don't know but I was scared because I felt bad. I looked to Daniel with fear in my eyes, and the only reason he knew I wasn't trying to do this was because my eyes kept flickering from bright blue to deep red. Then finally the singing stopped, but Lauren wasn't done, she kept running around doing the chicken dance? I was so confused but everyone else in the lunchroom was laughing at her, at on point she even began dancing on one of the tables and accidentally kicked someone's sandwich out of their hand. I looked towards Daniel with my eyes glassy and then ran out of the cafeteria and towards my locker.

*Daniel's POV*

I watched Lauren do, honestly, the stupidest thing ever, but I was scared for Anai. My poor baby girl doesn't even realize that she's being consumed by her siren at this point, she thinks it's her. Finally, her singing stopped and she looked at me about to cry. She ran away. I think I should follow her, I thought. I began running in the same direction. Soon I arrived to my princess leaning against her locker with her head between her knees. I came up to her and she didn't even flinch, I heard her painfully soft cries as I began to slide down next to her. I took her in my arms and whispered into her ear:

"Let's get out of here, we have a free period next period so I say we go relax for an hour." I whispered as she began to look up

"Really?" she said her eyes puffy from crying, "but didn't you see what I did back there?" she looked at me letting another tear fall

It breaks my heart to see the girl I love in so much pain, all I want to do is hug her and never let go, let her know she is safe in my arms.

"It's not your fault, and I'm always here baby girl." I said giving her one big squeeze and then letting go

I got  up with her looking at me, her eyes so bloodshot, her hair a mess, and her face bright red, wow she is so beautiful , I thought. I put my hand out so that I could help her up. She took it and when she got up, she snuggled her head into my chest.

"What did I ever do to deserve someone like you?" she said breathing heavily into my chest

"By just being yourself, and no one else because you perfect." I sighed leaning my head into the groove of her neck

"Let's get going." I said

"Okay." she said softly

We began walking away and we bumped into our principal, she was giving us a sympathetic look when she saw Anai.

"Go ahead and leave for the rest of the day," she spoke, "take care of her, be there for her." she whispered the last part to me

"Thank you." I whispered back

We walked out of the school and I texted the boys  (i thought it was time for them to officially be brought in)

Dani Boy: Hey guys, me and Anai are heading out wanna hang out later?

Bean: yes sure what's wrong with her tho??

Noodles: yesssss where we hangin??

Dani Boy: uh something happened and she needed to relax, also beach? Malibu?

Cup o' Joe:  Sure

Babwy Zachy: sure I'm down

Dani Boy: k see y'all there

I texted the twins next

Daniel: Hey guys me, Anai, and the boys are gonna head to Malibu beach. Y'all gonna join?

Hopey: yea, sounds fun but does she have her heart stone?

Adri: yes, I'll watch her and see if anything happens

Daniel: yes she has her heart stone she hasn't taken it off since the powers incident, also see y'all there

Hopey: k see ya

Adri: k bye

After that I turned off my phone and looked over at Anai, she looked like she was in another world. I drove to my place and we got our stuff together, and headed out.

"You know it's gonna be like a hour drive till we get there?" I asked, making sure it was alright with her

"Yea" she mummbled, "I'm just glad I'm with you." she looked at me and I placed my hand on her thigh

*Time skip*

"We're here baby." I shook her awake

She began opening her eyes slowly, and then we heard loud music pull up from behind us.
