part six - questions

*Anai's POV*

Anai - "Um hi?" I asked with uncertainty in my voice

Daniel - "What was that back there?" He asked with concern and pain in his eyes

He started playing with his fingers waiting for my response. Honestly I don't know if I could tell him, I was too worried he'd think I'm a freak and leave me, or worse, be killed.

Anai - "what do you mean?" I replied trying to shake off the question

Daniel - "You know what I mean, Anai please just tell me." He asked with his puppy dog eyes that I just couldn't ignore

Should I tell him? Should I risk his safety while risking his safety, I think not.

Anai - "Oh um, that was .... special effects?" I said while accidentally shrugging my shoulders, great now he knows I'm lying

Daniel - "Anai, you know I can tell when you're bluffing, we have known each other too long for me not to know." He looked at me with all seriousness

I was getting frustrated at this point, I loved him too much to risk his safety. Wait, did I just admit to myself that I love Daniel James Seavey? My best friend of ten years? Wow, I guess I did. Anyways that's besides the point, I cannot risk his safety, I don't know what I'd do if he died because of knowing my secret.

Anai - "I... I ca.. can't.. te.. tell you." I said with a shaky voice because I was on the verge of tears

Daniel - "WHY THE HELL CAN'T YOU ANAI!" he yelled, I could hear the frustration in his voice, he has never yelled at me, ever. I was crying at this point, but not because he yelled at me but because I was mad he didn't get it.

Anai - "BECAUSE I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE! OKAY I CARE TOO MUCH FOR YOU TO DIE BECAUSE OF ME, TO DIE BECAUSE I TOLD YOU SOMETHING THAT COULD FOREVER CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE OF ME!!" I screamed back at him, the tears that were running down my face at this point were hot and burning my face.

Daniel - "what? Oh Anai, come here" 

He started to walk towards me arms wide open, I had my arms crossed while hot tears ran down my face. He held me there and snuggled his face into the crook of my neck. 

Daniel - "You care about me?" he whispered.

I could feel his smile.

Anai - "Of course I do, Daniel, you're my best friend and you've always been there for me. You were my first friend when I moved out here." I said looking up at him

Daniel - "Well, I care for you too, more than you'll ever know" he tried to whisper the last part but I still heard him

Anai - "What do you mean more than I'll ever know?" I said and gave him a smirk

Daniel - "This." he smirked back

He grabbed me by my waist, looked me in the eyes and started leaning in, and before I knew it, I was leaning in too. Then bam, it all happened so quickly ( not that you nasties ). We finally pulled apart and leaned our foreheads together.

Daniel - "God, you don't know how long I've wanted to do that Anai Rose." he whispered into my ear

Anai - "Me too."

He looked down at me with sparks in his eyes, he looked so happy, and he began to wrap his arms around my waist tighter and pulled me into the biggest bear hug ever.

Daniel - "Will you be my girlfriend, Anai Rose?" he softly spoke as he snuggled his head into the groove of my neck

Anai - "Of course I will you big giraffe, I love you." I smiled looking at him

He looked down at me and kissed my forehead. He then grabbed my hand and looked me dead in the eyes, I already knew what he was going to say.

Daniel - "Anai, please tell me what happened back there, I wanna help you in every way I can."

Anai - "Daniel if I tell you this, I could be putting your life at risk, and I couldn't live with myself if you died fighting my battle."

He gripped my hands even tighter after that.

Daniel - "I put my life at risk everyday by just coming out of my house princess," he lifted up my chin, "and your battles are now mine." He said before kissing my forehead 

God, I love this boy...

sorry this chapter was cut a little short, I was singing earlier and then got in my feelings and broke down crying. Not that anyone cares but yea, anyways a little bit of a cliffhanger, I hope y'all are liking the book so far. Love ya, please comment and follow!!
