part two - flashback

*Anai's POV*

Daniel kept driving us to school and all could do was stare out the window at beautiful L.A., trying not to get flashbacks of the night that would forever control my life until I die, or - no, never mind that would never work. On top of everything else, I have to go to school, which is the place my powers will probably get revealed.

*flashback to her vacation with Daniel to Cancun*

*Anai's POV* 

Anai - "Isn't it beautiful Dani?"

Daniel - "Yea, you know I still can't believe that our parents let us come here all by our selves, and bought us everything to come and enjoy the trip."

We were sitting in the infinity pool of our private beach house while the sun was sitting and it was honestly one of the best nights of my life.

Anai - "Happy ten year anniversary of friendship." I said as looked at him in the eyes with his wet hair almost covering his beautiful ocean eyes that were probably brighter than the sea itself.

Daniel - "Happy anniversary," he said as he swam over to the edge where I was,"You know, I'm really glad I met you, you've been the only close friend I've ever really had besides the boys, but I haven't known them nearly as long as you." He said as he reached over and slung me over his shoulder and was about to throw me into the pool. 

Anai - "NO! Daniel James Seavey, PUT ME DOWN!!!!" I protested

Daniel - "Nope" he said popping the "p" "3.."

Anai -  "NOO!"

Daniel - "2...."

Anai - "Dani don't you dare do this!!"

Daniel - "Oh well, watch me. 1..." he said with a little smirk as he flung me full force up and over it the pool.

I basically flew in the air the way he threw me, but that false reality was quickly awakened by a cold immersion of water. Okay that's it, I said in my head, I'm getting payback. I swam underneath the  surface of the water and hooked onto his legs while he was trying to "run" out of the water. He collapsed in, and right as my mission was complete, I ran out and headed for my lounging chair. By now, it was night and the sky was cloaked with stars. An angry looking Daniel walked out of the pool and headed straight towards me.

Anai - "Aww did I make a certain Giraffe angry" I said with a fake powty face.

His facial expression went from mad to unreadable until he enveloped me into a big bear hug. I was taken back, but once I realized what was happening I soon hugged back.

*end of flashback*

*Daniel's POV*

I look over at Anai, and she's completely gone in another world. It was all good until I saw a tear fall from her eye.

Daniel - "Anai?" I questioned as I placed my hand on her thigh. She looked over completely red faced and on the verge of more tears. I pulled over, and the school wasn't that far away and started in 30 minutes so I wasn't worried. "Hey, heyyy," I enveloped her in a hug, " What's wrong? You know whatever it is you can tell me, right?" I looked her straight in the eyes with probably the most sincerity a person could ever have. I really did love this girl, and if something was wrong I was going to fix it because it physically pains me to see her this way.

She looked up at me with another tear coming out her eyes.

Anai - "It's nothing bad, I promise." She said, "I'm just remembering the night you through me in the pool while we were on vacation. I miss that."

Those words filled and broke my heart at the same time. That night I was having so much fun with her, and I was even about to kiss her, until she got up and left for a midnight swim in the ocean. I was so heartbroken that she left, that I just went to bed. Did I hurt her feelings? Am I the reason she was crying right now? I thought.

*Anai's POV*

He looked like a lot of thoughts were going through his head and he looked... scared? I placed my hand on his, and he was startled, I'm assuming I brought him out of his thoughts.

Anai - "Let's get going," I said wiping a tear from my face, " It's almost time for our first day to start." I smiled as I looked up at him.

Daniel - "Okay, whatever the queen wishes." He said in a cute british accent, while he 'bowed down' to me.

and sooner then later we were at our first day of junior year. New year, new adventures I thought. But what if someone finds out? I began to worry. Then Daniel looked over and took my hand in his as we walked in the front doors.
