As I drove my way to Kristy's, I admired everyone in the fall weather. Entering the driveway, I get out and go up to the door ringing the doorbell. Waiting a couple of seconds she whipped the door open and yanked me inside.
"I swore I saw something. After everyone left, I cleaned up and I saw a figure standing in the doorway. Now I thought it was my mind going crazy, but I'm not. Afterwards, I walked over to the living room and I saw the figure sitting in the chair. I'm not going crazy, Hailey I'm not."
"Okay, okay. I believe you. Calm down." I assured her that it will be okay and it may just be this time. Calming her down, I offered to take her out for coffee. She must have been hysterical. Entering Starbucks, we ordered caramel latte and sat down. She told me everything that happened from when Justin and Jane left. She began to clean up with music in the background until she saw a figure standing in the doorway.
Kristy didn't think of it thinking it'd be the trick of a light. Then continuing on to the living room, she saw the same figure sitting on the couch. Talking about how creeped out she was, it gave me a little chill. Sitting at our table with coffee, I noticed something at the corner of my eye. Glancing out the window, a figure stood staring at me. Jolting back to listen to Kristy, I shake the feeling that I'm being watched. Not wanting to scare her I kept quiet.
Sipping my hot coffee, hearing a knock on the window I looked to see the black figure standing waving at me.
"Kristy."
"Hmm." I point out the window. "Look."
Looking, she didn't notice as her expression looked neutral. "I don't see anything out there. Just passers."
"I swore there was something waving at me just a second ago."
"Same thing happened to me and I thought I was crazy."
Shaking off the feeling that I'm being watched, I sip my coffee deciding that it's time to go. Driving back to my home, I turned the radio on to distract my mind. It's been a busy day so far as I've been going in and out of home. Hopefully I won't have to go out again today. Pulling up, I stopped the engine walking out of my car. Stopping midtracks I heard laughing. Scanning the area there was no one near me. Unlocking the house, I entered the quiet home with everything spotless like I've left it before leaving.
Sitting on the counter is a piece of paper with writing on it. Not wanting to read it, I threw it out in the trash. Heading out back with a book that I grabbed from the bookshelf, I sat on the chair and read. Half way through the chapter, I hear a child's laughter. Sitting up alert, I scan the backyard. No child had entered my backyard. Just me alone. Hearing the satanic laughter, I go insane. Walking around to both sides of the house to find nothing but thin air. Irritated, went inside and turned on the tv. Relaxing on the couch, I switch the tv to life resting my feet on the coffee table.
I set the book on the couch beside me. I've had a busy day, a busy week and now I need to rest for a while.
Very tired, I closed my eyes for a while dozing off into dreamland.
Waking up from an hour's rest, the tv had been shut off. Did I turn off the tv before sleeping? I can't remember. Erasing that from my mind, I get up to make a smoothie as I'm craving something sweet but healthy. Making my way to the basement, I get a deck of cards and lay them out on the ground playing solitaire. As it's too quiet I grab my phone and blast music as I sang and dance along. Minutes later, my mom called as I answered telling them that I'm okay and what I've been doing for the past day.
"Hey, sweetie. Something has come up and we won't be able to go home tomorrow. We will be home at the end of the month. Are you okay staying home that long?"
"Yes. If I need to do anything I'll go to the neighbors."
"Okay, we will call once a day to check up on you."
"Okay."
Signing off, I continued on with the solitaire. Hearing thumping from upstairs. Startled, I stopped the music. I wondered why, thinking back in the day. Reviewing when we did the picture game properly, ending it the way we were supposed to. I came home and relaxed, Mason came over and hung out, we were bored and decided to play Charlie, Charlie. We both got a call and left. I bolt up right realizing that I've messed up. I've forgotten to say goodbye to Charlie, Charlie!
I feel so stupid. How could I possibly forget to say goodbye to Charlie, Charlie? That's probably what's been going on. But who would know that for sure?
Could be kids pranking me or something. But who would?
Thinking of the thought sent shivers down my spine. Shivering from the coldness, my phone went off. Looking at the message, it's from an unknown person. Reading it shocked me as hell.
You should have said goodbye to me! Now it's time to pay the price. Beware for future references.
Worried, I texted my friends to tell them what had happened. Telling each and one of them about my counter with paranormal things that have spooked me. The laughter that's been happening since I've been home. The message I've got, took a screenshot of it and showed them.
They were just as shocked as I was. Then Jane suggested one thing, that Charlie came to haunt me.
