Driving home in his grey Hatchback, Mason turned into his driveway. He killed the engine before heading in where it's just his dad. His mother ran out for a few hours with her friends, as Charlie went to do his scaring.
Mason felt alone right now, mentally. With his father home, who knows what he could do. His father is powerful in so many ways. He can control people, he's wealthy, and has a way to watch people to know what they're up to. Mason thinks of him as the "mayer."
Dropping his keys on a table, calling out, "Dad, I'm home!"
"In the office, son!" he called from downstairs. Jogging down the stairs into the closed off, dimmed light office.
"Whatcha doing?" he asked.
"Watching these people having dinner, but I bet you -twenty bucks - that they are going to get it on."
"Dad," Mason complained. He hates it when his father- who is a complete stalker- turns on them and it becomes awkward for him. The young couple did finish, set their dishes in the sink, then started making out. It felt awkward for Mason. The young couple slowly took off their clothing, he picked her up, setting her on the counter.
"Okay, I'm going to do my homework," Mason lied.
"Okay, son."
Mason left. He couldn't take the live porn that his father enjoy's so much. Although Mason is a teen, he doesn't like that stuff. Especially since he thinks he is abnormal from the rest of the world. He feels that he isn't the same as everyone else. Sure there are people who aren't interested in sex, but he's also not interested in getting a girlfriend, or getting married and having a family.
Mason walked up to the main floor grabbing a bottle of water. Grasping his bag from the front door walking to his room. Closing the door behind him Mason sat down at his desk. The computer loaded up as he searched the reason why people disappear unexpectedly scrolling through websites, he found one that caught his eye.
Reading, he took out a notebook starting to write important things down.
"A young teen girl disappeared without a trace fifty years ago. Her parents don't know what happened to her when they came back from work. This is the story of how she disappeared.
"Her parents went to work one day as she stayed home alone. No babysitter, no going to friends, and no grandparents watching over her. As it was break from school, she stayed home and did her own things. According to her friends, she posted all the things she did on her Instagram profile.
"Pictures of her home alone. Her food, what she did in that time. This young teen texted her friends while blasting music. Her neighbors heard and came over raging furiously. They warned her to turn it down or there would be consequences. She didn't want to get in trouble and lose her parents' trust, so she turned down the obnoxious music.
"This young teen went back to doing whatever she did. It was near six when someone rapped on the door. Thinking it was her neighbors again coming to complain about the loud music, she opened the door. She was right as it was the neighbors. The girl denied that she was playing loud music even though she was playing music, but the neighbors had none of it.
"The grumpy neighbors told her off and went back inside their apartment."
Instead of writing it down, he opened a new doc and pasted the link in there, continuing to read.
"The young girl shut down the radio making dinner for herself.
"Someone knocked at the door as she yelled out saying that her music wasn't on. The person didn't leave and knocked on the door again. Getting upset, she went to the door yanking it open angry. No one was there as she peered scanning left to right to see anyone there.
"The oven beeped she went back inside. Taking the food out of the oven, she heard some whispers. Scared, the young teen continued, getting the food ready shutting off the oven. Hearing whispers, the teen scanned the room with nothing in her view.
"She heard the door unlock and her mom walked through the door. But the girl figured it wasn't her mom when she screamed a frightening and eerie scream. The girl hasn't been seen since without a trace. This case has gone cold and the neighbors has been suspected of kidnapping and murder. To this day, no one has ever seen this girl. There's no trace. The police say, "she knew the person, let them in and got kidnapped and murdered." the parents are devastated."
Mason wrote a summary of the story, emailed this to his friends and continued his research on this story. Deep down his gut is telling him that this young teen is connected with Kristy and Melody's disappearance. Feeling a present his scenes went into action.
"Charlie I know you're there."
"Damn, I was hoping I would scare you."
"You know you can't scare me."
"I know. So, whatcha up to?"
"Researching how people disappear without a trace. Especially this teenage girl."
Charlie scanned the website as his eyes lit up like a light bulb, having an idea. "I know her. I was alive when she disappeared."
"Do you know her name?"
"Duh, her name was Elenor. She was a great friend. The day she disappeared, I was heartbroken. People would bully me and call me "the spirit" as I bring bad luck to everyone and how I pale I was. So when I died, I haunted the people who bullied me and I became a legend, 'Charlie, Charlie.' "
Mason felt horrible. Charlie's backstory is quite sad.
"So . . . what happened next?"
"Well . . . in my freetime, I would go find Elenor and find the answers. Until one day I realized that she did die from a demon. She's up in heaven where she belongs, but it's not the same. So now I'm haunting the demon who did this, unless someone summons me to play the "charlie Charlie" the game."
"Do you know that the demon is with Hell, or not?"
"Well definitely not in Hell because I know everyone down there, and I don't know one person who would do this, everyone is saying that this demon is not part of this world. Or Hell. Whoever did it to Elenor, is probably the same spirit that has taken your friends, and I am searching for them too."
