Chapter 16 - Surprised

Ash POV

It is raining heavily and I have another 5 minutes walked before I reached the junction to the subway. Once I reached the junction, I slowly crossed over to the other side of the road to enter the subway. Before I managed to reach the subway entrance pathway, a car suddenly come in high speed and skids from the wet road. It then pursued its way towards me. I quickly jumped over to the other side of the entrance onto the nearby bench while the car ramp into the subway entrance. It seems the driver is knocked out with the windscreen smashed and the car bonnet was crumpled due to the collision at the front. I got up and dust myself then rushed over to the driver side to check on her; yes is a lady driver. 

I took out my phone to dial 999 and informed them about the accident before trying my luck to open the driver's door. God bless and I am lucky that I managed to open the door and check on the injury of the lady. She still had pulse and I unbuckled her then slowly carry her out from the car towards the other side of the subway entrance where the rain won't hit us. Within 5 minutes, I heard siren and there comes the ambulance and police. I moved aside to allow them to check on the lady. Police officers came and blocked the scene for investigation purpose. I checked on my watch at it shows 5.30am. I then rushed into the subway and thank god, the train just arrives so I jumped in.

Once I reached the station nearby my apartment, I quickly walked out towards the exit. I rushed and crossed over to road and run a few blocks towards my apartment compound. I waved Hi to Harrod then walked into the main entrance and straight up to my unit floor. I unlocked my door and went inside my apartment. I am soaking wet due to the rain so I went to take a shower. After a hot shower, I changed into black V-neck t-shirt and a pair of black ripped jeans. I packed some of my cloths into the small luggage bag together with my daily medicines, toiletries and phone charger before zipped it up. I took my passport out from my drawer and make sure it is still valid for travelling. I brought a jacket along in case is cold inside the plane. Once I had everything, I put my wallet and phone into my sling pouch together with my passport and walked out from my apartment. I locked the door before walking towards the elevator hall and take the next elevator to the lobby. I managed to call for Uber to fetch me to the airport.

Its 7.30am when I reached the airport. I rushed over to the ticketing counter to grab the earliest flight to New York and yes, I am going to surprise my girlfriend and talked about yesterday's incident. Since is still early, I managed to buy the next flight out from London to New York at 8.15am with Virgin Atlantic. Since I still have some time, so I went to Starbucks to grab a bottle of orange juice and a blueberry muffin then sat on a table at the corner of the cafe enjoying my breakfast. I checked on the departure gate and saw my flight listed for boarding. I clean up the table then throw the rubbish into the bin then walked towards the boarding gate. Once I am seated inside the plane, I turned off my phone. Once the plane had taken off, I switch on my phone to airplane mode and take out my earphone then plug in and start playing my favorite song list from my phone and closed my eyes to have some rest as this will be a long journey.

**after 9 hours**

The plane had finally touched down and moving to its designated gate. I stood up and wear my sling pouch then slowly queue up to exit the plane once it stopped. I slowly walked out the plane and towards the Immigration counter. Since is still early, there is not much of queue where it just took 30 minutes to walk out from the Immigration counter and towards the luggage belt. I took my luggage then walked out towards the Arrival Hall while switching on my phone back to normal mode. Once my phone is online, I received text message from Christina but I didn't click in the message as I knew that she wants to talk and I don't want to spoil my surprised to her.
