*after work*
I waited for a cab so I could go to the hospital. As I was waiting, a car pulled in front of me. A white sports car roofless with burgundy leather seats. I looked at who the driver was. It was Mr. Bolvio. He keeps popping up everywhere I am. If this was intentional, it's not funny.
"I heard your conversation. You must be going to the hospital. I'll give you a ride."
*Mr. Bolvio's hand gestured a pat on the passenger seat with one hand on the wheel*
I was tempted, but who knows if he might take me to the hotel or somewhere else and kill me there.
"No thanks. I'll find a cab. I don't want to bother you."
I started walking away hurriedly.
*hospital*
"Mom. How's Adam."
*Adam was sleeping on the hospital bed*
*Arissa grabs her mom's arm*
*her mom turns around and slaps Arissa on the face*
"You unfilial daughter!"
I was so shocked when she slapped me. I touched my face, the side slapped.
"I never stopped you when you left the house. I never stopped you when you went off to college. You didn't even tell us when your graduation was. I never stopped you when you were looking for a job and living on your own. But did you really have to find a job as a florist? I don't mind what other jobs you could've found, but why this one?
I started to tear up.
"You dare ask me why. You never cared about me. Since I was little, it was dad who took care after me while you were always away. You never even cared to ask me how I'm doing or even get to know what I was interested in. You were either out shopping or with your friends. You were never home. It was dad who taught me the ways with flowers. He wanted to become a florist so much. Every time you came home, he prepared a bouquet for you. You wouldn't even look at him. When he died, I prepared a bouquet for him that you threw out. Have you ever asked me what I wanted? Every single time you call, you demand to see me but you never considered that what I'm doing is important too. I knew you didn't want me to become a florist, that's why I didn't tell you my graduation date, or else you would've acted like this at my graduation. Today, you demanded to see me when it was my first day at work, and you wanted me to cut work so I can come be with you. You never cared about me. Dad and I did everything for your happiness, but can't you do something for me? I appreciate Adam accepting me as his daughter, but you never accepted me as your daughter. Do you think that being rich is easy? My whole life, I was bullied for being rich. They called me a rich spoiled brat because you would have limos drop and pick me up everyday to school. It made me insecure and no one wanted to be friends with me except Fiona. I ran away from home so I would've never have to see you again. Tell grandpa I wish him well, and that I'll see him when I can."
My voice broke in so many ways.
*Arissa runs out*
"Arissa! Arissa! Come back!"
*her mom runs after her but was held back by Adam"
"Kaelyn, let her go. When you and she calms down, you may talk again. Don't be irrational."
"Adam, you heard everything?"
*Adam chuckles*
"How could I not? You guys are yelling right by my side. I'll be surprised if I didn't hear."
