You Melt My Heart

Episode 27

*the next day*

I woke up to puffy eyes and sick to my stomach. I took a morning shower but I still felt the same. I walked downstairs for breakfast but I had no appetite.

"Ari. You need to eat. Do you want to talk about what happened?"

I looked at mom and I wanted to tell her so much but I couldn't get the words to come out of my mouth. If it did, I would cry a bowl of tears. 

*grandpa walks in with a tablet in his hands watching the news*

"Kaelyn, look at this. It's a picture of Mr. Bolvio and Mrs. McCarthy. Why are the two together?"

I took the tablet out of grandpa's hands so quick. The news was about Mr. Bolvio and Mrs. McCarthy.

*grandpa points to the tablet*

"Arissa, do you know what's going on?"

I held the tablet tightly so my anger and sadness doesn't come out all at once. 

"Zane and I broke up!"

*grandpa and mom's face dropped*

"Ari. How what happened? I thought you loved him?"

Mom was right. I did love him but it turns out that he didn't love me back. 

"From now on, if you ever see Zane, don't greet him nor acknowledge him! That includes you grandpa."

I ran back to my room. I was overwhelmed with sadness but also anger. 

*ring* *ring*

I looked at my phone facing down and I was hesitant to pick up. I was afraid it was Zane calling. I got the courage and picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Arissa? It's Liam."

I let out the biggest relief sigh.

"Liam, why are you calling?"

"I was wondering if you wanted to go out for a walk at the park. I'm taking Bailey out for a run."

This is perfect. Just what I needed-a breather.

"Yeah. Let me get ready and I'll be there. See you!"

I changed my clothes and this time I drove my mom's car to the park. I saw Liam's car so I parked beside his car.

*Liam holds on to Bailey's leash*

I get out of the car and I was ready to run. I wanted to run as fast as I can to try to get Zane out of my head. 

"Hey Arissa."

"Hey Liam and hi to you Bailey"

*Bailey tries to jump Arissa but is held back from Liam holding his leash*

"Arissa, do you want to run this trail? If we go to the Creeper Trail, it's longer but it's more even ground. If we go to the Trooper Trail, the trail isn't as even and it hurts to run on but it's much shorter."

*Arissa points to Creeper Trail*

"Let's go to this trail. I need to take as long as I can."

*Arissa stretches then jogs before Liam and Bailey*

*Liam and Bailey catches up to Arissa*

"Arissa, you've been running for thirty minutes without stopping. You need to take a rest."

*Arissa shakes her head and pants*

"I don't want to."

*Arissa jogs ahead of Liam*
