Episode 17

*next morning*

*ring* *ring*

Why do people call so early? I'm barely awake. I grabbed the phone, picking up before seeing who is calling.

"Hello."

I yawned. 

"Arissa?"

Wait...is this...

*Liam on the other side of the phone*

"Arissa? Are you awake yet?"

Why is Liam calling? It's too early. 

*Arissa quickly sits up on the bed*

"Yeah...I'm up. I'm just tired from...from a morning run."

I'm still proud of how great of a liar I am. 

*Liam chuckles through the phone*

"I was calling to check up on you. How are you feeling today? After being discharged home. You didn't call me, so I thought you were probably resting."

Shoot, I was supposed to call Liam yesterday. I was so tried from the medications I fell asleep after dinner. I suddenly realized, "I don't need to tell Liam anything. It's not like he's my boyfriend." 

*Arissa laughs nervously*

"Yeah, sorry about that. I was really tired after taking some medicine so I fell asleep quite early."

*Arissa starts walking to the bathroom and checking herself in the mirror while talking to Liam*

"Arissa, I was wondering if you want to go out today? It's really pretty today, and I know a very pretty park we can go to. Maybe it can help you get a good breather after yesterday's incident?" 

I'm touched Liam thought of me. 

"Yeah, I can go today. I'm jobless now, so maybe I can look around if there is any place hiring."

*Liam lets out a satisfying sigh, Arissa heard through the phone*

"I'll come pick you up at noon. Text me your address. Bye."

I hanged up the phone with Liam and got ready. I wore a regular striped crop top with light blue jean shorts. I wore my white vans and I grabbed my brown shoulder bag. I left my room and felt that something was, like something was missing. I had my phone, wallet, and money. What could it be? I look around me and my toy plushy was missing. I panicked. I ran back into my room and searched for it. I made a mess everywhere. This toy plushy was the last thing my dad gave to me before he passed away. I had to find it or I'll never forgive myself. How long has it been missing for? I couldn't find it anywhere in my room. Could it be at my old apartment? I thought to myself, "Arissa, calm down. You'll find it. You just need to take a step back and retrace where I went for the last three days." I suddenly remember. When I went to Zane's apartment, I put my bag on the couch. The hook on the toy was loose. When I grabbed his shirts and my bag, it must've fallen off my bag. It has to be back at Zane's house. Lucky for me, I know his passcode.

*maid comes in*

"A young man is looking for you downstairs. He's talking to Madam James right now."

Why does mom all of sudden want to know about me? I ran downstairs. I see Liam talking to Adam and mom on the couch-smiling. I casually walked to the living room with a giant chandelier dangling from the ceiling.

"Liam...you're here."

*Liam smiles at Arissa*

*mom stirs her coffee*
