Hi, my name is the Sky I am 16 years old. I have a little sister named Stella who is 12. My home is district 12. My mother has had to struggle ever since my father was killed in a mining accident and he was killed. My mom shut me and my little sister out right after my dad died so I have had to learn to get food on my own. I was only 9 when my dad died so I taught myself to hunt with knives thanks to my best friend Auden. Auden is 18 and when we first met I was 8 and he was 9. We didn't know that a year later my dad would die. Auden's father died from sickness when he was 8 so he took what his father taught him about hunting and taught me. We get a lot of food and so we keep most of it but sometimes we go to the Mellark bakery where Mr.Mellark will trade bread for a squirrel. But right now that not what I am worried about right now.
Each year to keep the districts in line we have the hunger games where 24 kids between the ages of 12-18 fight until only 1 kid is left to be a victor. The victors in 12 our Haymitch Abernathy, Peeta Mellark, and Katniss Everdeen. The old victors are called mentors there suppose to help you win in the games and get you, sponsors. Katniss's little sister Primrose is Best friends with my Little sister Stella. Even though Stella is younger Prim treats her like there the same age. Prim is 13 and is a Healer like her mother. I have never really talked to Katniss because in school we were both not outgoing. Although we talked the year Katniss volunteered for Prim after that we lost contact
I am really nervous for my little sister Stella because she wakes up screaming at night about being in the games I tell her it will be fine and that she will never be picked and sing her a song that Katniss taught me. But this year is different because it's a quarter quell and I just hope I am right.
