Katniss's POV
Peeta and I are still in our room because we are nervous about the tributes. Today is the first day of the games and Sky still hasn't told Auden about her having a crush on him. After an hour we decide we need to get up and get ready to mentor and help get sponsors for them. After breakfast, we meet up with Haymitch at the elevator. "You guys ready for the worst part of being a mentor?" Haymitch asked. "Yes I am ready to just get the games over and done with," I say. Haymitch looks at me and says "Now you know how I have felt for the past 20 years". I still can't believe that it's been 20 years since Haymitch's games. Effie told us that she has been talking to people about sponsors to help take some of the pressure off of me and Peeta. We head down to watch the games begin. This year we are working with districts 7,4, and 11 for Myla and Roy. We sit next to Finnick and Annie and we start talking about getting them sooner. "So have we got any more people lined up since last time we talked?" Johanna asks. "We have a few for them but not too many more," Peeta says. "We have also got a few more but also not a lot more," Finnick says.
After talking for a bit the time then begins and we can see our tributes in the arena. After the airhorn blows, we see some tributes run to the cornucopia and some trying to run to the forest. Auden, of course, went to the cornucopia and grabbed weapons and worked with the careers to kill people. Sky got a few things and then ran to the forest. Roy and Myla's group got a few things and also ran away from the careers. By the end of the bloodbath, 19 tributes were dead. that's the most that has ever happened. We decide that we would take turns watching during the day or night and then switching and only waking the others if something happend.
Peeta, Finnick, Annie, and I have decided to take the first watch so that Johanna Beette and Wiress can sleep and take the day watch. Nothing really happens during our watch except for that three more tributes were killed. Sky's doing really good on her own which really surprised me. "Alright time for you guys to get some sleep so you can be ready for the next watch. Peeta and I head to our room and crash right away. We haven't slept since the first day. We are now on day two. I am just hoping that Sky doesn't do anything to get her killed. I am also worried that Roy and Myla's group will start to die out because none of them are really strong except for Roy.

Haymitch's POV
I didn't really sleep I just couldn't I worry about those kids in the arena. I then hear a knock on my door and get up to answer it. I assumed it was Katniss wanting advice but when I opened my door I was shocked to see Effie standing there. "Effie??" She nods and I motion her to come in so we don't wake the love birds next door. "Haymitch I am sorry to wake you but I really would like to talk to you about something," She says. I start to think about what would she want to talk about. "You didn't wake me I couldn't sleep," He told her. "Anyway, what did you want to talk about?" I ask. She looks down like she is nervous. Her hair is down and she not dressed up she is wearing comfy clothes. "Haymitch Abernathy I have been in love with you since last year when Katniss and Peeta were in the arena. I really do love and I want to be with you when you need it and I know we are like Katniss and Peeta's second family and I-" I cut her off by kissing her she kisses back and we lay in bed next to each other. I then think of something and decide to ask. "Effie I have also been in love with you ever since Katniss and Peeta were in the arena together. I want to ask you this because it comes from the bottom of my heart. Will you be my girlfriend?" I was so nervous. Then she kissed me and nodded her head in excitement. We then ended up falling asleep together again and I didn't have any nightmares that night.
( The next morning)
I wake up with Effie still next to me. I smile and think to myself how lucky I am that she is finally my girlfriend and I am her boyfriend. She then starts to wake up and I turn to look at her we make eye contact and smile. We decide to tell Katniss and Peeta at breakfast this morning. Effie went to change while I was changing. I put on my tux and brush out my short dark hair and get ready to see if Effie was ready. I knock on her door and she opens looking as beautiful as ever." Are you ready beautiful?" I ask with a smirk on my face. "Haymitch of course and thank you for the compliment," She replies. I take her hand and lead her out to breakfast and wait for Katniss and Peeta to get up so they can share their news. When Katniss and Peeta walk out they are both dressed in comfy clothes. She looks at us and frowns and whispers something to Peeta and he whispers back. "Why are you all smiley?" She asked with some sass. "Well we have some big news to share. She and Peeta look at each other and then Peeta asked: "What's the big news?" "Well Effie and I are now a couple," I tell them. Katniss's face turns to a smile and says "Congrats you two! It was about time!" "When did you decide this Peeta asked Smirking at us along with Katniss. "Last night," I reply. They then start giggling. "What were you two listening?" I ask and the look at Effie. "Maybe," they both say. Effie and I start to blush. "Don't worry we left after you and Effie went quite," Katniss said.
We then head to the elevator and see Johanna looking shocked. "You guys are not going to believe what just happened," She said. We all share a look and then listen to what Johanna said and I can't believe it!
