The Spellmans made their way back home in complete silence but that silence definitely didn't last when they got inside.
"Do you realize how close you came to being sacrificed," Aunt Zelda asked furiously.
"I didn't think you would let me go through with the drawing," Sabrina defended herself.
Seth butted in this time, pinching the bridge of his nose, "That doesn't make it any better, 'Bri."
Aunt Zelda ignored Connor's comment, "Oh, so it's my fault that you decided to play a game of chicken with me in front of the entire coven. That's rich."
"Right, well, what's done is done," Aunt Hilda reasoned, "Let's just praise Satan he decided to spare you both."
"Not entirely," Aunt Zelda said.
"Sabrina drew the lot of Handmaiden," Connor spat, "Life's gonna suck for a few days, 'Bri."
"Better to be the shepherd than the lamb," Ambrose pitched in.
"Which means what, exactly," Sabrina asked, "Aunt Zelda and Connor haven't told me."
"If you'd think before you'd act, you wouldn't need to ask," Connor huffed, a statement that drew his family's attention. He wasn't usually confrontational with Sabrina, with any of his family, actually.
"The lamb is the queen and the shepherd is the handmaiden," Ambrose explained, trying to cut the tension.
"The queen's exaltation is the highest honor," Aunt Zelda continued, "So for the next three days, while the coven fasts and prepares for the feast, the handmaiden must indulge the queen's every whim."
"Great," Sabrina said sarcastically, "So I'm supposed to spoil the girl who harrowed me."
"Preferably with figs and wild berries to sweeten her meat before the feast," Ambrose clarified.
"That's not even funny Ambrose," Sabrina deadpanned.
"Oh, come on, cous, it's a little funny," Ambrose fired back, "Prudence getting her just desserts by literally becoming the dessert."
Just then the doorbell rang, startling the Spellmans out of their conversation. Ambrose shot up to go see who it was, Connor already generating a theory as to who that person was.
"I'm in my room," Connor announced before trudging up the stairs, ignoring the pleas from his sister, who was intercepted by Prudence coming through the door.
"Prudence," Sabrina greeted.
"Handmaiden," She said dismissively, dropping her bag at Sabrina's feet and taking the apple out of her hand, "I assume my room's upstairs? I'm dying for a warm buttermilk bath. And a plate of macaroons."
