Winter came pretty quickly for the Spellman household, the holidays putting 'Luna in a good mood since she hadn't seen a western Solstice celebration before.
About a week before Christmas, Connor woke up to his familiar on his chest, like always. They'd been nearly inseparable since the night of the Thirteen's attack. Aunt Hilda either forgot about 'Luna or decided to keep it quiet, either way, it worked for Connor.
As much as he wanted to stay in bed, Connor found himself decorating the back of the tree with Ambrose, while Sabrina and Aunt Hilda did the front.
"Aunt Hilda, Ambrose, the Christmas tree looks great, you guys," Sabrina complimented.
"Sabrina, I wish you wouldn't call it that," Aunt Zelda commented, "It's a Yule tree."
Aunt Hilda chuckled, "Christmas isn't so bad, Zelds. Plus, also, for someone who doesn't believe in it, you have got yourself quite a few presents."
"Those are not for me, Hilda," Aunt Zelda corrected, "Those are for baby Leticia. Imagine, a baby just in time for the winter holidays. It couldn't be more perfect."
"Pity the child in question was abducted," Ambrose said.
"Ambrose, need I remind you of the High Priest's rather Harod-like tendencies when it comes to baby girls," Aunt Zelda asked.
"What I can't fathom is how you expect to keep the babe a secret," Ambrose replied.
"What secret," Aunt Zelda feigned ignorance, "There's no secret. Leticia is a long-lost Spellman sent to us from the countryside to raise, as we did with Sabrina and Connor."
"Oh, I remember when that was taken," Aunt Hilda gasped at a picture ornament in Sabrina's hands, changing her tone when she saw Sabrina's dour face, "Oh, it's hard, isn't it, this time of year? When we miss family the most?"
"I wish I could have one solstice with them, Auntie," Sabrina admitted.
"Yeah. You know what's gonna cheer you up," Aunt Hilda asked, "We're gonna roast some chestnuts, and we're gonna...Oh, we're gonna brew some apple cider. We'll hunker down and watch all your favorite Christmas movies. It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, I know you love that one."
"Sis, I love you," Connor butted in, "But if you make me sit through It's a Wonderful Life again, I will smite myself."
The comment drew a smile from Sabrina as she said, "I do, that sounds great."
"And I'll read A Christmas Carol," Ambrose added, "Even Auntie Zee can appreciate that story."
"I like the ghosts in it," She commented, turning off a lamp.
"Well, Christmas is the best time for ghost stories," Aunt Hilda commented.
