Your cellphone dials away in your ear as you patiently await your father's voice on the other end of the line, your free hand massaging a towel into your wet hair as you idly stare at yourself in the mirror.
You look a lot better now, much more refreshed and the new face wash you've been using has definitely left your skin looking a lot clearer and healthier, the sight bringing a small smile to your face.
"You'll be a model one day, bitch." You playfully chime to yourself, striking a somewhat lustful yet goofy pose and lowering your voice to mimic a line from a song you had heard this week. "'Cause baby, you were born this way~!"
A small giggle leaving your lips at your own silliness, however you're quick to kick yourself into gear when you hear a click, followed by your father's voice.
"Hello, my little petal." That greeting brings a smile to your lips immediately, Sir Crocodile isn't known for being sweet to anybody but for you, he'll always make an exception.
"Hey dad!"
"Judging by the giant crater left in my bank account, I think it's safe to assume you've found a nice home?"
An enthusiastic grin etches itself into your features as you hum an excited "Mhm!" down the phone, your free hand disposing of your towel and grabbing a hairbrush before beginning to rake it through your wet locks. "It's a massive home and it's so elegant! I feel like I'm living in a mansion, I don't know why it was so cheap but the water works like a dream so I can confirm that there's nothing wrong with the boiler at least!"
"Of course, you get a new house and the first thing you do is take a bath...why am I not surprised?" The male grumbles, drawing a guilty snicker from your lips, it's true that you like to relax in the bath quite often and you'd usually stay in there for over an hour which would sometimes lead to your father knocking on the door to make sure you hadn't drowned. "I trust Doflamingo was also a gentleman?"
"Yeah, he was...weird, but decent enough."
"And the paperwork?"
"All--!" Your voice falls silent as you notice yet another shadow dart by in the mirror's reflection, your head turning so quickly that it's a shock you didn't break your neck as your eyes rest on the hallway leading out of the bathroom.
"[F/n]?" Your dad calls from the other end of the line as you slowly approach the bathroom doorway, the shadow looked like it ran into a room on the right so with much anxiety, you reach a hand out to the door, it seems like it had been pushed to but not closed fully - something that only has your fear increasing.
Okay, okay...at least if I get attacked, my dad will be my witness.
"I think someone is in my house." You lowly mutter down the phone before switching to facecam but instead of having the camera pointing toward your face, you have it pointing ahead so that if you get attacked, your father sees the person responsible.
And with one hard push, you swing the door open to reveal an empty room, the only thing in here is a single box labelled 'Clothes'.
Oh my God, if I open it and some creepy kid crawls out, I'm going to have a stroke!
"Dad...you still there?" You airily ask as you nervously reach for the cardboard flap, only finding your confidence again when your father answers with a focused;
"Yes, petal."
And with that, you swiftly fling the coverage open, your wide eyes landing on a neatly folded jumper stacked on top of some other clothes.
