"Thanks for driving me home, I truly appreciate it." A small smile playing on your lips as you side-eye the eldest of Sabo's siblings, the man accompanied you and Marco to the hospital and stayed throughout the whole examination - which took several hours.

You had assumed he was there to gather information and work out the price in legal fees if you attempted to take it to court but nonetheless, he didn't have to offer you a ride home so for that you're very grateful, regardless of his intentions.

"It's no trouble. I once lived where you do now so I know my way there well, whereas a taxi driver might get lost."

Your eyes widen ever so slightly at his honesty but you're quick to pull yourself together and nod your head, you hadn't expected him to share that little detail with you considering him and his siblings have been wary about even mentioning the property all day.

"What made you leave?" There's clear hesitation in your tone as you ask such a thing but Thatch doesn't seem to notice, his eyes focused attentively on the road as he takes a turn into the forest leading to your house.

"Ah, nothing really..." You notice how his brows furrow with these words, he seems as if he's trying to work out a way to explain the ordeal to you in his head, of course he has no idea that you already know. "We had a loss in the family and the house was burnt down, we had a lot of memories in the old home and I guess we just didn't want to replace them."

That's understandable...should I tell him about the box I found in the attic though?

No, he'll probably want to keep it then that'll leave Sabo with nothing.

"I'm, uh, sorry for your loss..."

"Heh, if I had a dime for every time I'd heard that. But thanks anyway, he was a great kid."

If only you could inform him of what an angel the boy has turned out to be but once again, you can't simply tell him that you're in communication with his dead brother.

But what if I can make them interact with each other?

"Would you, by chance, be interested in seeing the place now? You must be curious, right?" You carefully ask with a soft smile, trying your best to come off as warm and welcoming as possible but it does little to help you in these circumstances.

The brunette simply chuckling to himself lightly before replying; "Thanks but I've got a delivery to wait for, an incident report to fill in and a father to call and inform about today's events so I'm gonna have to pass for now."

Damn.

Perhaps it's for the best though, if he comes inside and Sabo tries to communicate with him but the attempt is futile, it might only end up saddening the blonde even more and he sure as hell doesn't deserve that on top of his current situation.

The car beginning to slow down as your home comes into view, Thatch smoothly pulling up to the drive with a weak smile on his lips. "Here we are, I'll email you the details about your new furniture later and if you'd like some cushions thrown in for free, do not hesitate to ask."

Yep, he's a business man through and through.

"Thank you, Mr. Newgate." You politely chime while opening the car door and carefully shuffling out, dragging your crutches along with you and trying your best not to hit your foot on anything in the process.

The brunette deciding not to make the mistake of offering to help you again, he had tried to aid you back at the hospital when you were first getting into the car but you stubbornly barked that you can do it yourself, which caused the male to smartly back off.
