Movie Day.

"These films are so strange." Sabo's voice softly sounds over the love scene playing out on your TV, the only reason you can hear him so clearly is because your head is currently rested against his chest, your eyes half-lidded as you hum curiously, urging him to elaborate. "The quotes they use, I don't think many girls would fall for them in reality."

You've watched several movies with this blonde throughout the day in order to end up in this half-cuddling position; it started when you watched some horror and got spooked into the male's arms, you later watched some comedy but was too comfortable to move by that point, then a musical out of mild curiosity and now this, a romantic comedy.

You had expected the boy to complain about it as most men would but he seems quite happy to share this time with you, though the movie's logic is obviously confusing him a little.

"I suppose it depends who's saying it, if you feel deeply for somebody, I imagine they can say all kinds of corny stuff and you'd like it." The blonde merely scoffs at yours words, falling quiet for a moment and seemingly returning his attention back to the television. Well, until you speak again anyway. "Sabo, have you ever had a girlfriend?"

You feel him stiffen somewhat at the question, his hand that was previously tracing patterns on your waist has ceased it's movement and already, you're bracing yourself for the answer.

"Yeah, only a couple...I think." It would seem that bracing yourself was useless, your stomach sinking as a vile feeling washes over you, causing you to pull away - or attempt to anyway, the blonde's arm is very swift to tighten around your smaller frame, keeping you in place as he adds to his sentence. "From what I can recall, two of them were in elementary school so I don't see the point in counting those. The only one I dated during my teenage years was named Koala."

Yep, I regret asking! This is making me feel like shit!

"Why? I know we broke up way before I died. I think it was something to do with feeling weird while trying to be more than friends...I remember her being more like a sister than anything else so dating her would have been a bit awkward, as you can probably imagine." The boy glancing down at you with a cheerful smile as he leans in a little closer to your face, his breath fanning your lips and causing a heat to rise to your cheeks. "Are you jealous, petal?"

"N-No! Stop calling me that!"

As you probably should have expected, Sabo only snickers at your snappy response as his other arm wraps around your waist also, the cutie shamelessly snuggling you closer to his chest while pressing his nose to your hair.

"It's a cute name though, it suits you."

Jesu---!

"Are you always a cuddler?" You may or may not just be trying to avoid the subject of Sabo seemingly finding you cute, you're fully aware that your inner thoughts will go haywire and expose you for possibly finding this ghost attractive if you stay focused on such a topic for too much longer.

"I never used to be." Yes, he took the bait. The blonde's arms relaxing around your figure but still not letting you go as he relaxes back against your headboard, his fingers idly playing with locks of your hair. "You're just really warm and it feels nice to be close to you, I guess that's what happens when you die...you feel cold."

Ouch. Well, there goes my heart.

"Is that why you're always pestering me to stay with you?"

Yes, keep calm, [F/n]!

"Mhm. I also like you as a person, you're very different to everybody else." It would seem that your attempts to avoid a conversation that would make you shy was futile.

His honesty has your face burning up more than ever, your gaze shooting back to the TV in an effort to hide your flustered appearance as your thoughts break down into a long squeal, something that sounds like a whistling kettle that you'd put on a stove to boil.

Calm down! Calm down! Calm down, dammit!

"...I like you for that same reason." Your voice is only a mere whisper at this point but the blonde still catches it, you can essentially feel him beaming at the reply as he subtly presses a light peck to the top of your head, although he says nothing else and seemingly just indulges in the rest of the romcom from that moment onward, only releasing the odd snicker every time a funny scene occurs.

But it's still a cosy silence, you can sense that he's relaxed in your company and it helps to ease your own nerves also.

It's finally in this moment you realise that your toe hasn't been hurting at all since he eased it earlier, his presence has completely and utterly stolen attention away from the pain but even now that you've acknowledged the lack of feeling, it still doesn't hurt.

Amazing.

Living with a ghost might just be the best gift you've ever received.

A very cute ghost at that.
