Entry 14

Today is two days after my princess woke up. Yesterday, I was with the boys all day and I didn't see her. But we texted all day so I know she's alive. Which is good. Life is good.

Right now I'm out in a mall buying Steph a Christmas present with Ashton. Michael and Luke are looking for gifts for their girlie friends. (Or, in Luke's case, not a girlfriend, but a girl he has a massive crush on.) Christmas is in ten days, it's December 15. Just like every girl, Stephanie loves huge teddy bears. So, as the stupidly romantic boyfriend, that's my gift.

I'm in the right store, I know that. I came here when Stephanie was in her coma and I saw them. I just need to find them. I'm wondering around, with Ashton to my right. I finally find them and I get all excited.

"Ash, look." I point at the teddy bear that's probably bigger than me.

"They look soft." Ashton comments when he finds what I'm point at.

"Yeah," I start walking towards the bear, "What are you getting Izzy?"

"I'm getting her a pair of boots." He answers.

"Nice."

"Cal, these are huge." He says as we're standing in front of them.

"I know."

"She'll love it.

"I know. Now c'mon, help me pick it up." I say and we bend down to pick up the huge ass teddy bear.

"God, this is bigger than me!" Ashton says.

"Isn't it great? Here, give it to me." He hands his half to me and I carry to the register as a solider would.

I place the bear on the check out counter.

"You got a girlfriend?" The man at the counter asks.

"Yeah." I answer.

"Is this for her?"

"Yes."

"She'll love it." He smiles and so do I. He scans the tag. "$26.36." I give the money and he hands me the bear back. "Here you go."

"Thank you." I say and I'm carrying the bear like that again.

We walk out of the store and Ashton pulls me to the shoe store beside it.

"So, boots." He says.

"What kind of boots?"

"What does that mean?"

"There's more that one kind boot, right? The one with fuzz on the inside, and the one that ties up the front" I say.

"I'm calling Lauren. You call Stephanie and ask her what size shoe Izzy is." I obey and pull out my phone with great struggle. There's a bear on my back.

"Hello?" She answers.

"Hi, Steph! I have a question."

"Okay."

"What size shoe is Izzy?"

"Six."

"Okay, thanks."

"Why?"

"I'm Christmas shopping with Ashton."

"Have you gotten me a present?"

"Yes, I have."

"What is it?"

"I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you."

"I wouldn't like that."

"I didn't think so."

"Okay, get back to shopping. See you later."

"Love you."

"I love you, too." Then she hangs up and I look at Ashton as he's finishing up his conversation with his sister.

"Okay thank you, Lauren." He says. "I love you, too." He hangs up and looks at me. "Lauren told me that the shoes that tie up the front are combat boots. Those are the ones we're looking for."

"Alright. She's a six."

"Got it. Size six combat boot." We look for a while until Ashton finds something. "How about these?" He holds up a pair of boots that have a floral print on them.

"I think she already those."

"These?" He holds up a simple pair of brown boots.

"Those will work."

"Good. Who knew that would be so complicated?" We go to the check out and he pays for the boots.

"Are we done now?" He asks.

"Actually, there's one more thing I want to get for Steph." I walk to the jewelry store that's near here.

"Hello, can I help you find something?" The lady that works here asks.

"Yes, actually." I set down the bear on a chair in a sitting positing. "Stay." I tell the bear. "I'm looking for a heart necklace with some diamonds on it."

"Alright, come over here." She guides me to the section with the necklaces in it. "Is there any specific thing you want on it, besides the diamonds?"

"Nope. I'll know what my girlfriend likes when I see it."

"Okay, over here we have heart necklaces that are only diamonds." I look at a few of them, but none of them look pretty enough.

"Nah, maybe a little less diamond."

"Okay, this necklace is silver and has some diamonds in it."

"It's pretty, but I think we can do better."

"I think I have the perfect necklace. Excuse me." She leaves to go get the necklace and I patiently wait. She returns quickly after. "This necklace is not silver but white gold, with a small strip of yellow gold wrapped around the middle. It also has a strip of diamonds wrapped through it next to the yellow gold. It is 20K gold." "It's beautiful." I am looking at it and I know that Steph will definitely love it. "Ashton, come here." He walks over go me from his position with the bear.

"Yes?"

"Do you think Steph will like this?"

"Yes. Absolutely. It's beautiful, she will love it."

"Alright. I'll take it."

"Okay." She places it in a box and rings it up. "Would you like me to wrap it as well?"

"Sure." The lady quickly wraps the box in pretty gold paper and puts a bow on it. She tells me the price and I pay.

"Thank you for stopping by." She smiles and we walk off with the bear.

"I think we did a good job." Ashton says.

"I agree."

"Are we done now?"

"Yeah. I'll call Luke."

"Don't bother, they're right there." Ashton says and points to Michael and Luke coming our way.

"Hey, how'd you do?" Luke asks.

"Good. I got Izzy a pair of boots and Calum here got Steph that bear and a pretty necklace."

"Nice, man." Luke says. "I got Avery three phone cases and a shirt that says 'Don't rush me. I get paid by the hour.' Michael picked it out."

"And I got Luna two concert tickets to see Panic! At The Disco on January 15." Michael says.

"I think we all did extraordinary jobs. Nice job, lads." Ashton says.

"Now all I have to figure out is to make it until Christmas without Stephanie seeing the bear."
