Entry 17 (Calum)

Well, today is a lazy Sunday. We have nothing to do, not a job to get to or chores to do. Stephanie and I are laying on the couch, enjoying each others company. We're not talking, just laying here.

"You know I love you, right?" I randomly say to Steph.

"I know." She turns around her head from her position on my chest and lightly kisses me.

The doorbell rings and Stephanie stands up to answer it. She's only in her pajamas, but we invited the bunch over, so she doesn't care.

"Alright, who do you think that is out of the group?" I ask her.

"Not Luna or Mike, they're upstairs. Ashton told me it may take a little for him to get here, so I'm going with Luke."

"I'm saying it's Izzy."

Steph smiles before opening the door. From where I am, I can't see who it is. But her smile fades and her eyes widen, so I'm going to say it's neither. "C-Cal?" She stutters as she backs away from the door. I rush over to her side, protectively pulling her to my side. I see a bald man with a beer gut. He doesn't seen particularly happy, even though he had a smirk hanging off his lips. "Th-that's, that's my-my-"

"Just say it sweetheart." The man barks out.

"Dad. That's my Dad." She looks at me with terrified eyes.

"That's right, sweet peaks. I'm your Dad. The only father you have and the one you ran away from. I've been looking for you ever since I found that note. After ten long months, I finally found you. And the chum you're with."

"Sir, I really think you should leave." I step in front of Steph to protect her.

"Not happening. Who are you to say if I can or can't leave?! That us my daughter and I want her back!" He points a gun at my face and I get slightly.

"You beat her, and her mother! You're not her father!"

"What you're holding behind you is my blood and DNA. I'm her father, give her to me or I'll shoot you."

"Cal, just do it." Stephanie quietly says from behind me.

"No, I'm not doing that to you! Listen, a father is a person that takes care and raises a child. It is a fathers duty to keep their child safe and to love them, not to put them in danger and make them want to die!"

"What do you know about being a father?"

"I've been watching mine since I was 5, and I know the responsibilities." At that time I heard two pairs of footsteps coming downstairs.

"What's going on here?" Michael asks, standing by my side. Steph leaves her spot behind me and goes to Luna, standing a few steps closer to the staircase.

"This is Stephanie's dad and he wants her back."

"Yeah, no. That's not happening." Michael says and I see three recognizable standing behind this madman. It's Luke, Avery and Izzy.

"I'm getting my daughter back."

"You better leave or I'll call the police." I say, trying to send a message to Luke and the girls. He gives me a thumbs up and takes out his phone.

"Fuck this, if I can't convince you guys to get her, I'll get her myself." Her dad starts to make his way towards the stair case, where I'm guessing Luna took Stephanie, due to their absence.

"Nope, nope, sorry." I say and hold him back.

"Who the hell are you guys anyway? Stephanie's fuck buddies? God, she's always been a slut."

"Actually no, I have a girlfriend.-"

"And that's Stephanie?"

"No, she's my girlfriend. His girlfriend is with Steph."

"Hey, Asian kid," I focus on him, "Don't call my daughter Steph."

"She doesn't mind."

"But I do."

"I don't care if-" He cut my off by punching me in the nose. I fall to the ground, holding my nose. I hear screams, and within seconds, four girls are at my side. I see Michael and Luke fighting off Asshole over there.

"Hey, what's going on here?" I hear a heavy Australian accent.

"Ash, don't ask questions just help!" Luke yells.

"Oh, Calum, I'm so sorry he did that. He's never had a problem with just punching people, especially about my mother. That's actually how him beating me would start most of the time. I'd mention my mom, he'd go crazy." She helps me stand up, and the four of them guide me to the kitchen, where I sit down on the table.

"What did that have to with your mom?"

"Mom would always call me Steph. That's why he punched you."

"Oh, sorry."

"I'm the one that should be sorry, my physo father just came in here a punched you." She cleans and stops the blood.

"Whoa, what is going on?!" I hear someone yell.

"How many times have we heard that in the past few minutes?" Steph laughs as we all walk to the living room. Standing in the doorway is three police officers, all with their guns out. Steph's dad has his hands up, with blood running out of his nose, and the other three are just standing there, breathing heavily. "Sir, this man here is my father."

"We got called twice in two minutes. Something else is going on."

"Twice?" I ask.

"I called." Luke says.

"So did I. Anyway, he always abused me when I was young, and my mom, but she's dead now. When I turned eighteen, I ran away. But now, he's back, with a gun, and trying to take me back with him, against my will."

"You're my daughter!" He yells.

"Yeah, the daughter you never treated well." She says.

"Why were these three guys attacking him?"

"Oh, they were trying to stop my Dad from getting me while I was in the kitchen."

"Why were you in the kitchen?"

I speak up, "He punched me in the nose. She was cleaning up the blood." The officers all look at each other.

"Sir, put your hands behind your back. You're under arrest for child abuse and spousal abuse." As one police officer is arresting him, another officer leads me and the other guys out into the hallway. There's a paramedic standing there, who cleans up our injuries and checks to see if anything is broken. Luckily, nothing is, and the dad is taken away to jail.

"Wow, that was the least lazy Sunday I've had in a long time." I say.

"Yeah, that doesn't count as a lazy Sunday." Avery says, with Luke's arm around her waist.

"It started lazy."
