I cannot even bare to comprehend what happened today. I just... this page is wet with tears. I feel more alone than I even have before, sitting upon Vah Medoh and looking over Rito Village. But I will try to explain.
I promised Kass I would be at the Flight Range, and told him I had something important to show him. He seemed excited, and I couldn't wait to teach him the gale. But first I had to go to Hateno Village...
That's Link's home. I have to say, it was terribly boring. The only thing that could have been vaguely interesting was the odd windmill on the top of the hill, but before I could walk up there, Link stuck his arm out to prevent me. I boiled inside, but I've been getting better at keeping my mouth shut.
Link showed us around, to his house, to the general store, to the dye shop... I tried to keep quiet and not be rude but it was hard when it was so boring... I would have left there and then, if Mipha had not been there. She quietly listened and asked questions with enthusiasm, and I think I got some of her vibes, because when I got back to Rito Village, I felt good, but wasn't sure why.
I went straight to the Flight Range – I didn't care who I bumped into, who glared back at me. I needed to get to the Flight Range, needed to get to Kass... but when I got there...
"Kass? Kass?" I called, walking down the path. "I'm here! Today we're going to lea-"
I stopped short. Kass wasn't there.
I don't know why, but I started to panic. Over the past few weeks, Kass had been like a son to me. I... well, I loved him. And cared about him. But now he was gone...
Kass's parents did not seem to care about him, just as mine did not to me. So I went straight back to the Village and turned to every person I could and asked "Where is Kass?" I was desperate.
Everyone just gave me funny looks and said "Just go to Kaneli, he'll answer."
I went to Kaneli's house and burst in. "Kaneli! WHERE IS KASS?!" I yelled, everything coming to me. All of the desperate and angry feelings came out, and Kaneli blinked at me.
"Kass got banished."
"H-he what?" My brain spun in circles, I wasn't even thinking straight.
"He got banished, he tried to go to Hebra. As you know, that is not allowed for chicks like him. He is no longer part of Rito Village, and I believe he has left already. Maybe to the nearby stable. Maybe to the castle. But he is gone."
"I-I..." My heart smashed into tiny pieces. I felt crushed. I wanted to teach Kass everything I'd known, I wanted him to carry this down the Rito line. But now... there was no way I could do that now. Once someone is banished from the Rito... well, they never come back.
"Oh, and I thought you ought to know, Revali." Kaneli peered at me from above a sheet of parchment he was reading. He looked me right in the eye, and said something that crushed my heart all over again.
What was this thing?
"Revali, you're banished."
